4 More Women Go Public Against Schwarzenegger By Gary Cohn, Carla Hall, Jack Leonard and Tracy Weber Times Staff Writers

11:30 PM PDT, October 4, 2003

Four more women have come forward to say that Arnold Schwarzenegger fondled, spanked or touched them in incidents they said took place as recently as 2000 and as long ago as 1979.

In all, 15 women have now accused the Republican candidate for governor of grabbing or groping them. On the campaign trail Saturday, Schwarzenegger denounced as a "puke campaign" news reports that he has behaved abusively toward women.

I think the Mulholland Slime Machine has reached the point of diminishing returns. Each additional hit will only increase voter BACKLASH. The exit polls are going to be real interesting!

So, here's my question..

How many women have groped Arnold "inappropriately" in the last 20, 30 years?

We're talking about a body builder, a former Mr. Universe, a movie megastar.
I guarantee that many women have enjoyed touching, feeling his body, squeezing muscles, you get the drift.
Arnold has probably had his butt patted and squeezed by more women than he can count.
We can exprapolate that idea to to other "areas" as well.

I'm sure that on ocassion, arnold was a willing participant, even invited a feel.
Most men would, with the right woman.
But more often than not, he was probably grabbed, "felt up", without invitation.
Women tend to be given "license" to act thusly by men, it's just in the male nature to encourage such behaviour, especially in desirable females.

I haven't heard of Arnold going around complaining.

What makes you think they wouldn't have shoveled up dirt on Tom if he had been the front runner? Give me a break, its in these guys nature. They can't help themselves so just get resigned to the fact they'll keep runing this "old news" right up until after Election Day. Its just the way the Democrats operate here.

And if they weren't upset enough at the time to make a scene or file charges why are we supposed to be overcome with outrage now?

Given Arnold's status as Mr. Universe, movie star etc. it wouldn't surprise me if he was the gropee more often than the groper. A few years of that would tend to make one somewhat less inhibited about making advances of ones own I'm guessing. Just a theory.

This information has been out there for years. That being the case, the Los Angeles Times is tampering with an election process. I don't know how or if there is a way to take the Times to task for this, but there ought to be a way.

That being said, Schwarzenegger is a low-life to have mis-behaved in this manner. I don't think it will cost him the election, but I'd like to think it might scare him straight. I doubt it will.

It bothers me when people on my side state that the women liked it, or a woman would be lucky to have him do this, or that it makes Arnold look more verile. No, it makes him look ugly and beastly. Real men don't abuse women. They are confident in themselves and treat women with the same respect they would want their mothers, wifes, girlfriends or daughters treated with.

We are given the choice of a socialist brown separatist, or a serial groper. I opt for the groper, but I'll say it like it is. This guy should be on a very short leash. If he steps out of line at all, he should be recalled immediately.

Schwarzenegger has done some despicable things, and some good things in his life. This may be a chance for him to turn it around. I believe he's going to get that chance. He better damn well take advantage of it. The first indication that he isn't, please contact me to help any way I can in removing him from office.

If the guy has an ounce of class, he'll make another statement after he is elected expressing his sorrow at his former actions, promising to live his life by a higher standard. Then he better do it.

This is in fact Gray Davis' m.o and why he's perfected negative politics. He can't win on his record but he can prevail if he can make Arnold unacceptable to enough people that they'll stick with the devil they know. This is exactly the kind of environment he thrives in. At the beginning of the week he was definitely on the ropes. If Arnold is weakened enough by these attacks he may pull off an upset. Don't underestimate him cause the whole point of tagging Arnold as a serial groper is to get people to conclude Davis is the lesser of two evils. It certainly worked against Bill Simon after Simon turned out to be a crooked businessman.

If the charges against Arnold really matter, then the Lewinsky scandal really was "all about sex."

The point to the Lewinsky scandal wasn't sex. It was abuse of power, perjury--and hypocrisy. These accusations against Mr. Schwartzenegger don't involve abuse of power, perjury, or hypocrisy (for example, Arnold has never portrayed himself as especially pro-feminist, unlike the case with Democrats in general or Clinton in particular.)

The trouble with these last minute slime attacks is there is no time to look into the background of the accusers.

Yup, exactly.

Did this article appear on the front page?

I am so disgusted with this whole situation I could throw up. I have never in all my years (and there are plenty) seen such mudslinging slime and corruption!

Is there anyway these individuals and the LA Times could be sued for slander, defamation of character or anything else? Maybe Arnold couldn't but what about Maria and the children?

What about us - the stress we have been subjected to because of these 'rats. Could we as a team, do anything? Anyone have any legal expertise?

I'll be honest with you all, when I see Davis or Bustamante on TV I have to hold back from kicking in the screen. My blood pressure has never been so high!

The number of named women coming forward is increasing. That is a pattern that we've seen before, with Bill Clinton.

I agree with Arnold that where there's smoke, there's fire.

The problem with a pattern (such as the pattern being revealed now with Arnold's unwanted advances) is that it reveals an ugly side of a person's nature. If Arnold does not respect women, then there is something flawed about his character. Women are people. Arnold did (and still does not?) not respect people. I do not want to be responsible for enabling an environment in the governor's office which is conducive to a pattern of unwanted sexual advances. That is counter to my own principles. I also do not want to be responsible for helping install a governor who by his actions does not respect people.

Arnold was using his power as a successful movie star and businessman. He was abusing his power to the discomfort and detraction of others. I don't want an abuser of power in the governor's office.

You can blame the LA Times all you want, but Arnold did not have to make it easy for them to find dirt. There is every appearance that he made it easy for them to find dirt by way of his past behavior.

Also, Arnold should have inoculated himself early on in his campaign by being upfront about his past behavior early, so that he could have put it behind him and pointed to a much earlier generic admission whenever a new accusation came along. He didn't, which is a strategic weakness in his campaign strategy and now possibly the campaign itself.

I have not heard any such named accusations about Tom. Unlike Arnold, Tom is "vetted" by way of previous local elections, so there is a very small chance that something new about Tom will come up, IMHO. Advocating Propositions does not count as political experience since the advocate is not running for political office and so is not vetted.

Tom's still the man, and Arnold's still the adolescent.
