Welcome to the Canteen Music Dedication. Each week we bring our troops, their families, and friends a variety of music. We appreciate any and all feedback. If you have any music requests, please FReepmail, email, or post on the thread any requests. We will try to acommodate as many as possible. We hope you like the new layout of the Canteen Music Dedication. We try to provide a variety of songs for everyone to listen to. If you aren't sure about an artist, please avoid clicking the album cover. We try to give you as many musical choices as possible. There are some songs that are highly offensive. If you choose to click on them and are offended, please keep in mind that we have already warned you. So? Please choose carefully. Thank You! |
BETH'S MUSIC MIX (music selection) |
Just A Thought As much as I'd like to believe that I'm as hip as Beth and MoJo, I'm not. So? If you look over the Current Music (MoJo's section) and Beth's Music Mix and you find that this isn't your style of music, please go to the music below. The kids don't want to offend anyone and begged me to tell all of you. So? For the sake of your eardrums and mine, please don't complain if you listen to music that is not intended for the "distinguished" members of our society. That would be all of you in my generation. (MoJo and Beth would consider us "old", but we all know better.)---DJ Ma |
MUSIC "DID YOU KNOW" |
*Axl Rose, Guns N Roses lead, used to teach Sunday School. *Brad Nowell, late lead singer of Sublime, formed his first band at the age of 13. The name of the band? Hogan's Heroes. |
MUSIC "DID YOU KNOW" |
*Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith, met Joe Perry at an ice cream parlor called The Anchorage. The rest is history. *The band decided on the name Aerosmith because it was the only name they didn't hate. *In 1988, Steven Tyler hurt himself while performing in Anchorage, Alaska. (Hello Ma!) *Steven Tyler is the father of actress Liv Tyler. |
Check back next week for a full list from DJ Beth. |

I watch the ripost 'twixt you two
And wonder what I am to do...
On the one hand I'm rather amused
But on the other I have four fingers and a thumb.
Is that what you meant by doggerel?

Evening Brother!

Early to bed is imperative. I've been nodding all day, but if I nap I haven't a chance of sleeping tonight. I'm using MoJo's music to stay awake. LOL! What did the pushover you have for dinner? I'm off to find some soup. *HUG*

My kitty looked at your puter
And said no offense bentfeather, but I am much cuter
Thank goodness you did that poem as neuter
'cause the only rhyme I could think of was "hooter"
Right now, I'm sans nap, and havin' a fit
'cause for the last 2 hours my sil talked a bit
Today's lesson, even if not yet asleep, one should pretend....
Because: Voice mail can be our friend. ;)
First draft writings are without meter
And thus don't beat him or beat-her
But it's not about winning any race here
I'm just filling up some space, dear....

Evenin', Tonk!
JROTC is great!
I spent the day volunteering at the local High School for a JROTC (air) rifle match.
My job was bugging the volunteer moms who were doing the actual scoring, then I entered the totals into a spreadsheet and posted results out in the hallway for all the cadets to gripe about how poorly they did!
Actually, we had a lot of fun...the volunteers are a great crew, the kids are just awesome in their dedication, energy, class, and joie de vivre, and I have to give a special mention to the cadre...4 retired servicemen who come together to make the program work at the High School level.
Downside...our team came in 5th out of 8 overall. But they'll get better!

We all know that Ma couldn't come up with any artists under 100 years old for the music selection.Yes, Beth, thanks for the "young" music. Unfortunately, MoJo is right. I didn't know any of the "other" selections today, but I sure did enjoy the trivia about so many of the artists. And since we have so many young troops, the variety of music is wonderful!! Good job, Kiddos. *HUGS*

Don't worry about the youngsters, Ma. Their day's coming....
For me, first it was learning that a dentist was younger than I. Then a minister. Then a doctor. Then....
Of course, for me, that just happened last week, but I'm sure YOU know what I mean. ;)

Ma needs to know about the "successful" parachute jump. Does that mean there were documented "unsuccessful" jumps?
