Rush plausible theory of what happened with the pills

A lot of this drugs and Rush stuff isn't adding up for me. So let me try out a theory here.
Read this on http://www.thesmokinggun.com/doc_o_day/doc_o_day.html
If true it gives insight to the behind the scenes goings on.
Note that the two were running a Palm Beach-area pharmacy.
Now, what if Rush were a legitimate customer of the pharmacy these two owned. Just happened this way. With me so far?
So the maid may have been picking up Rush's legitimate prescriptions all along. So if anyone asked, she just says these are for Rush. Cool cover story for the maid/pusher who might get caught with the drugs eh?
OK lets say these two pharmacy owners were doing what is alleged on the smoking gun site, selling these pills on the black market. Well how do they cover their tracks at audit time? Simple. Rush is a customer. So they simply credit the excess purchases to his account. Why Rush's account? They assume that if anyone wants Rush's medical records he will resist with legal means. Might be why Rush is accused of buying enough of these pills to kill a horse ... hmmmm.
Neat scam we have here. All is fine until the cops start moving in. Then trouble. The maid might have been a pusher who was taking the excess "Rush pills" and selling them, not to Rush but anyone who wanted them. So Rush was part of the cover story for the dealers/pushers.
Now add this tidbit ... I remember Rush on-air several times saying he does not bill his insurance company for drug expenses, he just pays cash for them. He admitted to not keeping records of his drug purchases nor did he total it up for taxes at year end. So Rush was an accidental sitting duck for the scam.
So now Rush goes on the air. Says he doesn't know what is going on. Assume what Rush says is true for the moment and all else begins to make sense.
Curious don't you think.

No one would say Rush wasn't addicted, he said so on air. And it's very reasonable that he is still taking these heavy duty pills.
I agree that the truth will come out, but I am tiring of hearing the media imply he is guilty when we don't yet know.
It's reasonable that the police have asked him not to expose more until they can wrap up the investigation, now that their cover is blown.
But I believe Rush will tell all in the end ... good or bad.

Kosh had it right (see by tag line).
But, we will have to have patience to see what is up.

I agree with you. I don't think Rush was deliberately set-up. Poor choice of words on my part.

Rush is not stupid and has successfully managed two major health problems. IMHO this is a frame up.

A Dem, of course.

Sure...and it's plausible that monkey's will fly out of my butt!
Perhaps some here have their tin foil hats screwed on a bit too tight.
This is just MY opinion...if yours differs...good for you.

I agree and posted a condensed version of this theory over one of the sundry Rush live show threads.
As for Rush not speaking out. I am a civil attorney and was involved in a bs frivolous lawsuit, which made some very serious charges. Being a take charge guy, I tried to head the matter off myself and take care of it. I made three key mistakes that I would never make if I was representing a client in the same situation.
After a month of making the situation worst, I hired my best friend to handle the situation. He corrected my errors and had the case dismissed before I could write him a check.
If you are involved in a serious situation, do not assume because you are an honest straight forward person it will all work out and be honest and straight forward. I know better and attempted this pattern. There are a lot of people in this world who play for keeps, regardless of who you are and what you have done in the past. Keep your mouth shut and let the professionals handle it.
When you are emotionally invested in a situation, it is best to let people who can see the forrest through the trees handle the situation.

I kind of liked the idea, from another thread, of having the Limbaugh letter at the check-out line in supermarkets.

Could explain why Rush seemed so perplexed....... Good analysis, thinking or whatever you want to call it...

Only problem is Rush said himself today that in the end he will tell us everything....maybe more than we want to know. You have to believe he is lawyered up tight by now. He is only going to say what they let him say. Which is very good advice.

I don't know, Rush had major surgery a while back, he wouldn't be the first person that got overly fond of painkillers after surgery. Best to let the info flow, we'll find out some version of events which might have some vague resemblence to the truth.

On another thread, I raised the possibility that law enforcement had enlisted Rush to participate in a long-running sting operation to catch the maid's bosses, dealers, pushers and other sundry perps.
Well, my posit is as good as any other right now.

Read the Palm Beach Post story "Limbaugh linked to painkillers" posted at 9:30 this morning. It states that Cline's husband was arrested for identity fraud in April 2000. It also gives other details that just don't add up, in my opinion.

excellent post.
I was once accused of something serious. The things I learned include: the police are not out to search for the truth - they are out to make a case. Two very different things. I learned to be very careful. If one or two people who had no reason to like me had lied, I could have been very screwed.
There are evil people out there who play for keeps. Sometimes I just shake my head and wonder at the naivete of conservatives.

Thanks....I expected to get flamed by all the Rush-bots.
Of course, there is always the nightshift.

Great minds think alike. I drew my theory from reading the smoking gun article. Add a few pieces from listening to Rush and it all seemed to fit.
You are right about independent council. Get too emotionally involved and objectivity goes away. I would bet the lawyers prevented Rush from saying anything until they knew exactly what was going on.
Rush said we would know the whole story, sooner rather than later. I would say next week since the media lynch mob is already forming. Rush can't let it sit for too long.
