Then if the whole thing was fabricated why doesn't he just say it's not true and the facts will come out later? Pretty simple. I like Rush, always have, but he didn't handle the drug part of his discussion well. I think he did great on the ESPN thing. No argument with his position there.

We are all complex people and none of us are perfect.

Rush doesn't owe us anything; it is the conservative movement that owes him.

I realize many will disagree and that's fine. But to see so many people dump on a man who has done so much for the conservative movement and expose the hypocrisy of the left saddens me.

If there was an investigation, and it was a fraud, his entire team would launch an all out attack on the maid, the cops, the dealers. They'd go for a first round knock out. Before this goes one inch further.

that was a pretty bad cover of the NY daily news yesterday "DRUG RUSH"? Would you just say: "I can't talk about this yet", if it was a total fraud. They are using a different strategy.

There are some defenses you do if your innoncent and some you do if your guilty. What type is this?

I believe he is to a point, but the questions have not started yet. If the callers are true fans they will avoid asking the "drug" question, otherwise they would be disrespecting the wishes of a friend.

The point is that his lawyers told him don't say anything until we know what evidence they have against him. For PR reasons, it would be stupid for Rush to say, I want to talk about this but my lawyers won't let me. He's playing this the way he needs to without putting himself in a position of getting into a perjury trap or to encourage the prosecutors to indict him out of spite. Rush has to play things very carefully.

Unfortunately, you are correct. If someone accused me of illegally buying thousands of prescription pills I would say that it was ridiculous, untrue, a lie. It's that simple. Rush is caught up in something. If he was addicted to painkillers then he should come out and admit it. He could turn this into a positive by going on a crusade to get people to seek treatment (I suspect there are many people out there who are addicted to them).

What? Do you think the police/investigators know more about what Rush did then Rush does? I don't know what he's dealing with but he certainly does. At the very least he knows if there is anything to the allegations or not.
