Well we had some good news and bad news last night. Leila Kay's baby sister finally arrived last evening. She was actually born on her great-grandmother's birthday, who thinks that it is the best birthday present she ever received. But, please pray for little Ashly Elise who was born with MAS (Meconium Aspiration Syndrome). She inhaled amniotic fluid mixed with meconium (baby's first feces) at birth. A lung collapsed last night but after working on her it was re-inflated at about 75% capacity. They will be checking on her lungs again in a couple of hours. The doctor says that right now it is not life-threatening but she is in intensive care on an aspirator and lots of antibiotics as they try to clear her lungs. I know the power of prayer and know I can depend on my friends here to help out. Thanks in advance. I'll try to keep everyone updated.

Was so happy to hear that your grandbaby had arrived then shocked to hear that she aspirated while being born. Sounds like she'll be alright but I will be praying for
Ashley Elsie and your family.

Oh, Lloyd, this is such sad news, and you know that we will all be praying and pulling for little Ashly for strength to overcome this, and that the doctors can get that lung back up to 100%.
Please do keep us posted as you have the time. You're family to us, and we love you all.

Managing to read through the whole thread in bits and pieces, I see the initial problem with your precious new granddaughter has already been resolved.
Continuing prayers for her full recovery and ability to go home soon.
By the way - my third child and only daughter was born in the hospital on Ellsworth AFB on 30 September 1962....lotta memories there....hasty trip out from Rapid City, first snow flurries of the season falling gently...42 minutes of hard labor and there she was!
Know you are anxious to see and hold her, ladtx, and assume you will be able to when they swing through Texas on their way to Florida in December.
May God watch over all of you and yours, and keep you safe...
