KUWAIT CITY (AP)--Kuwaiti security authorities have foiled an attempt to smuggle $60 million worth of chemical weapons and biological warheads from Iraq to an unnamed European country, a Kuwaiti newspaper said Wednesday.
The pro-government Al-Siyassah, quoting an unnamed security source, said the suspects had been watched by security since they arrived in Kuwait and were arrested "in due time." It didn't say when or how the smugglers entered Kuwait or when they were arrested.
The paper said the smugglers might have had accomplices inside Kuwait. It said Interior Minister Sheik Nawwaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah would hand over the smuggled weapons to an FBI agent at a news conference, but didn't say when.
Government officials couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
Iraqi Interior Minister Nouri Al-Badran met Tuesday with Sheik Nawwaf and discussed cooperation between the two countries in security matters. His visit is the first by an Iraqi interior minister to Kuwait since 1990.

Look, if there were really a truckload of sarin or VX seized as part of this, the media would be all over this.

I'm skeptical as we should be at this point. This story would be catching fire REAL fast, liberal media or not. And it is not. The only thing that makes sense is if W and his team knew this was coming and was downplaying it for full effect later. Also, the libs hysteria over "Novakgate" could be a diversion. But then again they are always hysterical...

Or, it could be @ $1.89/lb = $60 mil.

brrrr...It's damn cold here in Upstate NY!!
Nothing to do with the item but it'll btt.
The Proposal that Bush laid on the table when he spoke before the UN was "the selling and/or transporting WMD" to another country will be a crime recognized in international law. (Something like that)

This was posted 30 min ago, and who knows how long the "info" if it's real hit the wire. 30 mins is an eternity in the breaking news business.
I afraid this is bogus. Who's the culprit?

So far the news is only a repeating of an Islamic source. No man of reason takes an Islamic's tales as true until closely verified.
Very true. If Kuwait does have WMD smuggled from Iraq, they're probably still bargaining a price before they "hand over" the WMD to the FBI. This article may have been based on a "leak" to up the ante.

"Disagree, but for different reasons. The left is amorphous and CANNOT lose a logical argument, because they refute logic. If this turns out to be true, rather than damaging them, they will turn it back on Bush....(i.e. "Why has Bush BUNGLED finding these WMD when the Kuwaitis had no trouble???? or.... "If these WMD got caught, where are the rest???, etc.)"
Point taken. You'd have more success hearding a million cats than dealing logically with a leftist.

I afraid this is bogus. Who's the culprit? I am the one who posted it. I can assure you that the story appeared on the Dow Jones News wire at 3:22pm EST. Dow Jones credits AP.
Now, if the story is false, you will have to take it up with Dow Jones or AP or their sources.

During the war Kuwaiti information was pretty horrible; they constantly discussed "SCUDS" being fired, when we now know that Iraq didn't fire a single SCUD during the entire war.

I afraid this is bogus. Could you clarify. The post is bogus or the Dow Jones story is bogus? I posted the story so I can attest to its authenticity (but, obviously, not its veracity).

I understand. I wouldn't cast dispersion, that why I'm not pointing a finger at you. I keep wondering why some people could see the WMD headline but others (me) could not. This is very curious.
