I am voting for and supporting Arnold for economic principles. This state cannot withstand any more of the Davis ilk. We don't have the luxury of idealogic purity with so much at stake. I am voting for the future of my family not for the sake of any of my personal convictions.

When I hear Arnold talk and see him, I think of a leader. He is so proud to be an American and when he said everyone that comes to this Country has to earn the right to become a citizen -- he sold me.

Arnold cares about making the State of California better for all Californians not just the special interest groups. I believe Arnold has integrity and unlike some other politicians will not accept campaign donations from groups that he will be negotiating with as Governor.

Have reached the point if I see the word "principled" before conservative, I am likely to vote for the other candidate. I have seen enough of "principled" conservatives to last a long, long time. Until Alan Keyes ran in 2000, I never even heard of the word -- now it is used to describe candidates that I have a hard time supporting. Somehow in this race, being asked to support a candidates that takes hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Indian tribes, goes against my nature. The spin that has accompanied those donations is Clintonesque!

Really getting fed up with the far right declaring who is a conservative and who is not -- just like tagging all of us Arnold supporters along with Republican office holders, etc. with the term "RINO" -- disgusting! Bet you will find out that more of the "RINOs" have worked in the trenches for Republican candidates over the years then the ones trashing us. If they had worked for Republican candidates when we were in the minority, they would not be working to split the votes today as supporters of McC. That isn't standing on principles -- that is wanting to lose for Republicans. No "True" Republican wants to lose!

Well, both government cuts and cracking down in illegals coming across the border have been reiterated throughout several of his interviews and speeches. Here is a bit on both, I suggest reading the full links... all are excellent information on his positions in these areas.

"Arnold Schwarzenegger's top fiscal adviser says he is drawing up several budget options that would avoid new taxes while imposing spending cuts that he insists won't cause widespread hardship."

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Austrian-born actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, the leading Republican candidate for California governor, called for a clampdown on illegal immigrants from Mexico on Tuesday as Gov. Gray Davis launched a series of TV ads aimed at keeping his job.

Schwarzenegger, who says it took him 15 years to become a legal U.S. citizen, tackled the politically combustive issue of illegal immigration in response to attacks by Democratic recall rival Cruz Bustamante.

Bustamante had accused the "Terminator" star of being anti-immigrant for supporting Proposition 187, the voter-approved measure that sought to deny public services to people in the country illegally.

"What he doesn't understand is that people like myself waited 15 years to get citizenship," Schwarzenegger, who came to the United States from Austria in the 1960s, said. "There are people who have been waiting 20 years. I find it unfair to all of a sudden push the whole thing with undocumented immigrants and say they should immediately get citizenship."

The film star told the John and Ken show on Los Angeles radio station KFI-AM 640 in a telephone interview that he wanted stricter controls and beefed-up patrols on the U.S. border with Mexico. He said he was also against legislation, currently being debated in Sacramento, that would give California drivers licenses to illegal immigrants -- a bill that Davis has said he would sign and Bustamante supports.
