I neglected to mention that while I don't support Arnold on many of his social issue positions, he does oppose partial birth abortion, and supports parental consent.

Your list is more complete than mine in 79, and makes the point quite well.

Bases on what I know of California, which isn't all that much, it seems to me that more Dems are voting for Arnold that Republicans. I can't imagine that California is actually 68% Republican. I am more inclined to think the Republican vote is pretty evenly split, and that leaves Arnold with more Dems than Republicans. You need to post this question on a Democratic web site.

**99.9% of those posts were based almost exclusively on the flawed reasoning that we should vote for Arnold because "he can win". **

Not true. Perhaps you should take some time to read over the thousands of posts. You'll find an amazing amount of repeated explanation why Schwarzenegger is the best candidate, in many peoples opinions.

I tend to believe you'll not read over those posts. Rather, you'll most likely choose to stand with your feet in the cement, chanting anti-Schwarzenegger slogans, not listening to reason or opinion or direct quotes from the man himself.

sigh.

Tamsey,

Don't waste your time with this guy. Nothing you say will ever appease him. He is in "my guy or the highway" mode and he would rather take his ball and go home and let Busta win than see Arnold win. He isn't worth the time.

The principle of stopping a Separist, Marxist panderer to illegal immigrants, lawlessness, and Institutionized Theivery on an unprecidented scale. Not good enough for you?

How will Arnold be any different? He isn't going to send illegals packing. He wants to socialize and "take care of everybody, including the children" and he's working closely with Kennedy and Specter. Uhhhh..smells like another Democrat to me. I'd call Arnold Bustamante-lite.

Arnold supporters are smart enough to recognize flame bait when they see it even if it did get by you.

And also too stupid to know another Ross Perot when they see him. How ironic.

"I'm a conservative because Milton Friedman is right and Karl Marx was wrong." Arnold Schwarzenegger

---

Just that one quote slams Arnold onto the right side of the political field so completely and absolutely.... only someone determined to believe otherwise for their own agenda could question it.

Well done :-)

The slow path to outright socialism is still socialism.

Delphinium,

Let's say you lived in New York and the race for the 2006 senate was between Rudy Giuliani and Hillery Clinton. I bet you would have no problem voting for Rudy.

Guess what. His politics are 99.9% the same as Arnold's

Oh, and the biggest reason conservatives should support Arnold? -- Hillary called him a "right-winger."
