Why does the extreme left hate my president?

Why does the extreme left hate my president?
Over the past many months, voices from the far left have boldly and increasingly grown to what one might consider obnoxious speech. For some it is just an annoyance, other see political implications. And yet many more question not just the extremists motives for their abhorrent word and behavior, but also see deep-seeded character flaws dangerously displayed on a daily basis.
What makes these far left extremists hate my president so intensely that they are emboldened to lie with regularity about his words and actions? Notably, not only do they lack proof when their accusations fly, but they understand perfectly well that many reporting will not ask for factual information.
How is it that the far left feel so strongly about this man that they spew hate and hateful speech without apology? Sadly, President Bush is everything that they despise. It appears that this group prefers having a flawed president who gave them permission to be of the same caliber without conscience than to have an honorable man at the helm. And regrettably hate is what they know best. They hate not just the policies, but they hate the man. Why? Is it possibly that his integrity stands between him and those of hate?
And finally, do they not realize that many throughout America see their party and spokespeople as representing the worst in us, people not to be emulated? Many recognize that words of hate by the far left extremists do constitute a war, a dangerous war that is being played out without consideration for country, its people and our way of life.
Today, the lefts repertoire filled with hateful speech is unacceptable, as well as dangerous. Their tearing down for whatever purpose must not go unanswered, but must be addressed with urgency. Hopefully, the 2004 election will correct the far-left extremists delusions. And decency will prevail.

They hate him because he stands for all they despise about the world and about themselves, because he is the man they wanted Clinton to be, and because he isn't their lap-dog.

Why does the extreme left hate my president? Because he's not extreme left.

Well, WE hated Clinton. And were right about him. The left has been pi**ed off about our being right ever since, so they figure if they hate Bush enough then they'll be right about him eventually as well. And they're not going to let facts get in the way of this effort (as if they EVER let facts get in the way of their opinions).

You're being far, far too exclusive.
There are those on the extreme left, the left, moderates, rightists and extreme rightists who can't stand.
It's the same with any president.

Hopefully, the 2004 election will correct the far-left extremists delusions. And decency will prevail.Indeed! And keep in mind, it's a very small percentage of hatemongers that get their voice amplified by a large elitist media. The biggest voice, however, will be the hard working electorate that don't trust these psychophants to protect them. A 7+ pick up in the US Sentate and common sense will prevail. Bigtime.

They hate not just the policies, but they hate the man. They hate the man. They ought to love his policies. In terms of actual enacted change, Bush has been the most progressive president since Nixon. In fact, the Bush 2004 strategy is Nixon 1972 without the Watergate baggage. The Dims hate him about as much as they did Nixon.
It will be a neat trick if he can figure out how to keep us out of a major recession by 2006.

He's got (R) after his name and thus won't help them advance their power, which they see as linked to having (D)'s in office.
There's really not much more to it than that. If it were based on what Bush is actually doing, they wouldn't be complaining so much, because evaluated objectively he's acting like a leftist in quite a lot of his policies, including but not limited to the war against Husseinist Iraq to dethrone an absolute monarchy at its first generation, which leftists by all rights ought to have applauded (and to their credit, some did e.g. Christopher Hitchens).
Another less significant but still operative factor has to do with Bush's "dumbness" (in particular, his lack of facility with verbal communication), which offends many on the left because they come from the world of academics and therefore got the ingrained idea, starting from when they were very young, that this was or should be an absolute intellectual meritocracy. They thought that being clever and getting gold stars and high marks meant they would forever (even as adults) automatically be given power over other people, continually showered with attention the way their teachers did, and eventually we'd simply hand them the keys to the kingdom. Bush's very existence and relative success as a leader (properly understood) puts the lie to that and this frustrates them; subconsciously they feel they were lied to and that something just isn't "fair" about his Presidency. It's almost enough to make me feel sorry for such leftist intellectuals / frustrated philosopher-kings whom nobody will listen to.

Yes, it is the mirror image of what happened with Clinton.
The reality is that they are both just politicians, currying favor and spreading propaganda.

The contempt for Clinton was NOT merely that he was a politician. I think I speak for many when I say he was a horridly corrupt, lieing, rapist first and then a politician.

Lets look at who the extreme left is, Larry Flynt, sodomites, GLBT's, femanists, the chronically unemployable who refuse to work, Hollywood which goes along with sodomites and glbts but also includes headonists. I exclude labor because they are not extreme liberals, just deceived as to how business works.

If you really want to face this question truthfully, you have to consider:
These are people who are anti-war
The President forced war on them against their wishes
They feel the President lied to them to get the war started
The hatred for Clinton is because he is a liar; the hatred for Bush is because he is a liar to them. To understand the hatred for Bush, we only have to look at the hatred for Clinton. To them it is the same.

I was talking to a friend the other day who is only slightly leftist, but he too absolutely hates Bush.
Bush himself does not seem exactly opposed to what the Left so adores, big government. In fact he seems not too dissimilar from a Democrat in much of his policies.
Perhaps he is hated because he is patriotic in the old fashioned sense.

Why does the extreme left hate my president? That should read "Why does the extreme radical left hate my president"? Or
"Why does the extreme radical left hate my president"?

But you understand it wouldn't be hard to find someone who believes every bad thing ever posted on the Internet about Bush as well.
