Perhaps Mr. Arafat should apply for the position. Is that what they said about Said or is that what Said said?
I don't think even Arafat could brainwash students like some these professors here have been able to do. My brother-in-law was a Pro-Israel conservative Republican before going to UofI and then only three weeks into it he had a pro-Palestinian opinion that that Israelis were the oppressors. He refused to listen to anyone else's opinions about it except for his instuctor's.

He had suffered from leukemia at least since the early 1990s. I am sure the Israelis have injected him with that... stuff. And now Mossad simply killed him in the hospital. Belgian courts will shortly charge Sharon for personally murdering Said.

Is this the same guy who wrote a best seller about growing up in Jerusalem that was all a lie?

Gore says there will be no ceremony until someday when he and Howard are both laid to rest in Washington's Rock Creek Cemetery near the monument to Henry Adams. The Romans would have brought them together in death, but in a rather different way.

Palestinian Scholar Edward W. Said Dies Why should I pretend to mourn? The man was niether a "Palestinian" nor a "scholar". He was born in Cairo and grew up there; and then he invented a whole new persona for himself. Was Goebbels a "scholar" too?

The man was evil. I wish he had had a change of heart before he died.

Just found this, thought it was interesting, it was with the photo of him throwing the rocks:

"People who live in glass houses...
"Well-known Palestinian American academic, Edward Said, has embroiled himself in further controversy regarding his conduct. Late last year, a storm brewed up over the revelations produced by Justus Reid Weiner that Said had systematically mis-represented himself for several decades as a Palestinian refugee forcibly evicted by Israel, when in fact he spent an affluent childhood in Cairo.
"Said has described Weiners findings as a tissue of lies, yet implicitly conceded their accuracy in the corrected version that now appears in his own memoir, Out of Place."
