Or one to a white guy and two to blacks, or one to a white chick, one to a hispanic and one to a black. Either way at least one minority bought a cookie.

My mother's family is American indian, and I recognize the mind-set. Pretend that the original culture exists even though it died at least a hundred years ago. or has been so adultered that it is nothing like what it was. Nearly all blacks, like nearly all those who claim to be American indian, are in fact mixed bloods with almost as many European ancestors as African or aborginal-American.

A black student filed a complaint with SMU, saying the sale was offensive.Must not have liked the cookies, even with a 75% discount.

Exactly. They should have said that these are one dollar cookies, but that a "critical mass" of black and hispanic consumers, was needed for whites to find the cookies delicious.

This is my alma mater. They called two days ago soliciting funds. Told them to send me the solicitation in the mail. I won't be donating a dime now.

P.S. For those who don't know, Laura Bush graduated from SMU. Prior to the 2000 election, both Laura Bush and Dick Cheney were on SMU's Board of Trustees. The school has been sliding steadily to the left since the mid-'80s. They funded a gay student group circa '92 and their United Methodist school of theology is populated with homosexual clergy wannabes. I'm very disappointed with my alma mater.

The bake sale people need to go to court to protect there rights. Why don't we have some nasty attorneys like the ACLU has.

""I felt they were attempting to make Hispanics and blacks feel inferior. We jumped over the same hoops to get there."" On the other hand, I'm not eligible for any of the hundreds of different scholarships offered by the United Negro College Fund, am I?

<< If you want to put out the fires, start with the professors who plant the seeds in these young minds. Most of the students, when first starting out into college, don't have these ideas until they get into the classrooms. >>
You flatter them all.
No "mind seeds" exist among the elitist, emasculated, feminized and homosexualized, drugged-out, universally-mean-spirited, envy-motivated, hatred-engined, racist and bigoted aging hippy "professors" that so squalidly squat and bemanure our nation's colleges, no "mind seeds" are planted by them, none germinate -- and none flourish in the vacant lots that are the minds -- as they struggle illiterately to even read the diplomas with which they've been production-line issued -- of our nation's college "graduates."
Arriving at "college" after a dozen or so years exposure to the brainwashing of America's public "schools," a student starts and ends college with nothing more nor less than the varying degrees of the ability to verbalize the gaseous rumblings of his bowels -- and the urges of his loins.
Which he then, with varying degrees of success, calls the "thought" and the "ideas" that he sells to other lunatic-left-wing fringe-dwelling "liberals" and "DemocRATS" -- and promulgates in our nation's schools, colleges, military academies, universities, writes into our nation's regulations -- and fiats from the benches of our nation's courts!
While, thank God, the [Legal and non-criminal] immigrants' kids -- and although they too are ignorant of Our Beloved FRaternal Republic's History and of its Tenets -- take it on from there.

Much more profitable to pounce on an "opportunity" than to whine about a "hostile situation".
But that wouldnt include any affirmative action - it would take personal action!

How could it be offensive?
Everyone knows that all Whites are wealthy and all minorities (except Asians) are poor. Consumer prices should reflect that reality.
Does he object to affirmative action, that reflects the reality that all Whites and Asians are bright enough to be admitted to collages on their own ability, but other minorities particularly Blacks need extra points to do it?(/sarcasm)

The campus Republicans at UCLA did the same thing a few months back. They were shouted at and actually ended up cutting it short when angry fans of diversity and tolerance started throwing the stuff they were trying to sell (oreos and twinkies IIRC). Same thing at UCSD, where the College Republicans copied the UCLA Bruin Republicans' bake sales. At UCLA, the organizers even had humorous titles like "admissions officer" to categorize a customer's level of oppression, and "white oppressor," "the man," "self-hating hispanic race traitor," and "uncle Tom" for the rest of the organizers.
Inevitably, a racist black or hispanic would take offense and start arguing (or possibly resorting to violence) with the organizers.
I think they used fresh-baked cookies (not prepackaged ones) in at least one of the UCLA bake sales.

Make sure you write them a letter and let them know why they're not getting your money. And use their postage-free envelope to send them the message. Wrap the letter around a brick and send it on its way.
