There is no surer proof of Christ's divinity than that he is still so hated some 2,000 years after his death. Amen to that, Ann. This piece is some of her tightest writing. The examples she cites are powerful without any pumping with her usual zingers. How did our society reach this type of insanity.

Oh,brother..such an awful mess the ACLU and their ilk have made.I am pretty clear on the history of strict "church-school" separation dating back to 1947, but I am less clear on the history of multi-culturism, which also figures prominently in the Coulter column. Any hints?
At my daughter's school, I've seen the displays of the culture/geography programs. It all seems fine. The only real clunker I recall is the following: a 6th grade social studies teacher told us they had been discussing the different attitudes toward war of the two genders. Say what??
To: NutCrackerBoy
I haven't had anyone in grade school in years.I just wonder if they skimp on our history when teaching social studies.I hear they seem to emphasize the negative about the USA.

To: JohnHuang2; All
Apalling anecdotes. Whilst no supporter of school-led religion (wouldn't THAT open a can of worms...), I have no problem with children praying privately.
I cannot help but wonder about the PARENTS of these children who are disciplined(!) for praying, however. When I was in junior high (grades 7-8), I was involved with some fisticuffs with another boy who tried to set me on fire. We BOTH were brought before the principal (this was a PUBLIC school, remember, in 1980), who proceeded to beat us both with a wooden stick about the legs and buttocks. I ran home INSTANTLY, and, in pain and horror, told my father what had happened. He hopped in his truck (he was a flooring contractor, and a lifelong working man) and sped off to my school, where, after brushing past the principal's secretary, he cleaned off the principal's desk with one huge hand, seized him by the tie and pulled him close to his face, and informed him that, were I EVER touched by him again, no cops would be called, and no lawyers. Instead, he would be made to eat the stick, and would then be made to HURT, really badly. The message was delivered with all the language an Italian ex-Sailor and construction worker could manage. Shortly thereafter, the principal resigned.
Do these parents nowadays even confront the idiotic school administrators anymore? Were it MY son, I can assure you that the conversation betwixt myself and the principal would not only result in no discipline being brought, but a serious realignment of his/her outlook on life.

Hearing the G-word in kindergarten might interfere with the school's efforts to teach proper sexual techniques in the first grade. Freggin` great! I just wish she would have used a more descriptive, a more to the point title than "Treason" for her book. "Liberals are enemies of the USA" would have been fine. Why? Because they are. I mean when people start questioning whether the left is doing more damage to this country than Al-Qaida, maybe it`s time to ante up in the "free speech" dept.
