There is no surer proof of Christ's divinity than that he is still so hated some 2,000 years after his death. Amen to that, Ann. This piece is some of her tightest writing. The examples she cites are powerful without any pumping with her usual zingers. How did our society reach this type of insanity.

Apalling anecdotes. Whilst no supporter of school-led religion (wouldn't THAT open a can of worms...), I have no problem with children praying privately.
I cannot help but wonder about the PARENTS of these children who are disciplined(!) for praying, however. When I was in junior high (grades 7-8), I was involved with some fisticuffs with another boy who tried to set me on fire. We BOTH were brought before the principal (this was a PUBLIC school, remember, in 1980), who proceeded to beat us both with a wooden stick about the legs and buttocks. I ran home INSTANTLY, and, in pain and horror, told my father what had happened. He hopped in his truck (he was a flooring contractor, and a lifelong working man) and sped off to my school, where, after brushing past the principal's secretary, he cleaned off the principal's desk with one huge hand, seized him by the tie and pulled him close to his face, and informed him that, were I EVER touched by him again, no cops would be called, and no lawyers. Instead, he would be made to eat the stick, and would then be made to HURT, really badly. The message was delivered with all the language an Italian ex-Sailor and construction worker could manage. Shortly thereafter, the principal resigned.
Do these parents nowadays even confront the idiotic school administrators anymore? Were it MY son, I can assure you that the conversation betwixt myself and the principal would not only result in no discipline being brought, but a serious realignment of his/her outlook on life.

I had the day off yesterday. My kids go to Catholic school and every wednesday all the kids go to 11:30 a.m. Mass.
It's really nice to sit there and see your kids attending Mass while they're at school.

When the mother arrived, the teacher threw the Bibles in the wastebasket, shouting, "This is garbage!" Three things would happen if this was my kid.
1. My kids would be pulled out of public school.
2. This teacher would be in the hospital.
3. I would be in jail.

A blood-boiling article from Miss Coulter. And just think, liberals and some so-called conservatives in Congress still have a problem with a school voucher program.
In less than two months, my wife and I will be having our first child. I only hope we can afford a private school. If not, you can bet I'm going to keep a close watch on what goes on at my child's public school and I'm not going to take any of the crap mentioned above (or anything else like it) quietly.

With all due respect to Limbaugh and Ms. Coulter - I like them both - I don't see this as persecution. IMHO persecution implies harm and suffering, and I don't see it here. These accounts are appalling, and certainly are evidence of growing anti-Christian bigotry, but not persecution. Christians are being sold as slaves, wrongfully imprisoned, and executed in other parts of the world; that is persecution. The U.S. isn't there, at least not yet.

Thanks for reminding me. After I read this column in my local paper, I wanted to look up some of the incidents that Ann mentions. I would like to know the full story of Lynn Lucas school, for instance.

Thanks for posting another masterpiece by my hero, Ann Coulter.
She is right - - the country is shot to Hell. The Democrats have won.
My only criticism of her fine piece is the lack of NAMES. I want to see, in bold print, the NAMES of every last scumbag teacher, "administrator", and school board member mentioned in these stories. I want to see the full NAMES of these Democrat scumbags.

I am not even a Christian and I personally am offended by the constant insult to Christianity in our society and media. It seems that EVERYTHING is acceptable but the expression of Christianity.
How can anyone of any faith stand for this? Our golden rule is to treat others as we would be treated. No faith should be besmirched like Christianity is in today's secular America.
Here is an egregious example from a "popular" artistic film from a few years ago, "Chocolat." The heroine of the story, the main character, comes to an austere French village in the middle of Lent and opens up a chocolate shop. Her delicious chocolate is pure seduction to the good Catholic townsfolk during this time of austerity and temperance. An estranged Grandma (who didn't follow the town's customs) accidentally runs into her little grandson at the shop, I forget why.
He wants to go home like his mother told him, but the "heroine" proprietor and the Grandma try to get him to stay in the shop. The proprietor makes him a big cup of her delicious hot chocolate. He has been told by his mother to avoid such things during Lent. The scene that SO INFURIATES me is when the proprietor pushes the cup closer to him (while he is trying so hard as a little boy to obey his mom) and says "Go ahead. Live a little." And he drinks, and supposedly all is then RIGHT with the world (in that hideous weak liberal scheme of things).
I nearly walked out of the theater.
Just imagine if it were Hollywood's protected religion, Judaism (I am Jewish, so I can admit that). What would the ADL be saying if it were non-Jews pushing a plate of bacon toward a little Jewish boy in a yarmulke (skullcap) and tzit-tzit (prayer threads)?? "Live a little, Jewish boy!" And he eats the forbidden meat and suddenly things start to turn for the "better" in the desired plotline? Hmmm?
