I posted this owing to the current investigation of the Muslim chaplain, Capt. Youssef Yee, who had been stationed at Gitmo.

I posted this owing to the current investigation of the Muslim chaplain, Capt. Youssef Yee, who had been stationed at Gitmo. And now the other two guys AF and Navy, as well.
Sounds to me like this fellow may have been involved, and decided it was time to leave. I imagine he is now being chummy with Fidel's boys.

Strange things are afoot at Guantanamo Bay . . .
Army declares missing soldier dead," Ohio.com , Posted on Fri, Nov. 01, 2002
LOGAN, Ohio - A soldier missing from Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba was declared dead, but his family still hopes to find him alive, his mother said Friday.
"We just don't feel that the Army is looking hard enough. ... As far as we're concerned, he's been taken by somebody," said Ann Foraker, mother of Staff Sgt. Ryan Foraker.
Ryan Foraker, 31, who was married with two daughters, has been missing since Sept. 24 from Camp Delta, where 598 detainees accused of links to the Taliban or al-Qaida are held.
His wallet, military ID, and civilian shorts and T-shirt were found folded and stuck in a rock crevasse outside his barracks. The military suspects he climbed down nearby cliffs overlooking the sea and drowned.
The mother said an Army representative appeared at her door Thursday and said her son was dead.
But without a body, the family wants the search to continue.
"I just don't buy anything the Army has said," Ann Foraker said.
She said the Army representative gave no explanation for why her son was declared dead. Speaking from Guantanamo Bay on Friday, Maj. Sandra Steinberg confirmed the Army has declared Ryan Foraker dead but had no explanation for why. Ryan Foraker was in charge of transporting and guarding suspected terrorists at the outpost.
His parents say they don't believe he would have climbed down a cliff because he feared heights.
"We still feel empty without him. It's the roughest thing I ever went through in my life," said Carl Foraker, the soldier's father.
Ryan Foraker's wife, Angela, and their daughters, Olivia, 3, and Annie, 15 months, have been out of state visiting family, said Carl Foraker. They are expected to return home for Veterans Day, when the community again will honor the missing soldier.

Muslim Chaplain Yee had a list of people who had interrogated the prisoners.
Perhaps there was also a list of guards.

It seems his photo was pulled from news articles previously posted ...

I remember this and I am looking forward to an answer as to how/why Sgt. Foraker disappeared.

I lived in Guantanamo for almost 2 years- trust me, he can't go far.

Hmmm ... Very weird. Wonder if we don't have a high muckety-muck with Al Queda there whose status is unknown but they want him back? Yee - the chaplain had layout maps which is only useful for potential breakout attempts?
Anyone know how secure Gitmo is?

Or . . . Since Yee was nabbed while trying to smuggle information out regarding camp layout and personnel, a second approach would be to nab a guard who was familiar with all that, probably with Castro's help. Just speculating . . . The family does think he was kidnapped.

remember the text in red, below the "word wrap:on" botton on the posting page. Maybe we don't want to dig too deep.

Or, maybe he went "state's witness" and there needed to be some story to cover for his disappearance, and to keep anyone from targetting his family.
Or the others realized he saw something and took him out.
Or he really did go swimming at 1 AM and left his civvies on top of the bluff.
Wonder if any of his uniforms was missing and if the civvies were just props to make it look like he was skinny dipping past midnight.
Hard to tell so far, but since the investigation of the others has been going on for a while, maybe it began with this missing man. Maybe some Ohio freepers have been following the story.

Anyone know how secure Gitmo is? You cannot get on or off that base without a big ruckus. The fence line is difficult to get through, the bay if full of sharks, and no boat can approach the base without notice.
