In just 15 days the people of California will choose a Governor and as a result set a course that will affect the future of the state and our country in profound ways. This thread has been created to keep us all informed of the important developments.
I invite you to post all the major recall stories here or if it has already been posted, then add links to these posts. We welcome discussions of the candidates, the issues, campaign strategy, the polls, etc. Please be civil in your comments.

An 11-judge panel of the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals today takes up the case of Southwest Voter Registration Project v. Shelley, in which an ultraliberal three-judge panel ordered the cancellation of next month's California election for governor. Oral arguments are scheduled for 1 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (4 p.m. EDT). In what we're told is the circuit's "first significant experiment with live broadcasting," the proceedings will air live on C-Span, as well as on some local broadcast stations in California....

SAN FRANCISCO Federal appeals court judges sharply challenged attorneys seeking to postpone the Oct. 7 recall election, posing questions during an hourlong, nationally televised hearing Monday that were notably unsympathetic in their number and tone.
The court plans to issue a ruling in the case this morning, Cathy Catterson, the chief clerk of the court said Monday evening....
