Effect of Simon and Ueberroth dropping out (total 13%) shows MadClintock did not climb to around 17% but dropped instead to current 14% after having several debates without dominating presence of Schwarzenegger.

Instead of Seabiscuit, MadClintock runs a horse race like Mr. Ed evidently.

If McClintock and Arnold debate, Arnold will be beaten like a stray mutt. No comparison in knowledge of the issues, none.

You'd be better off sticking with the star quality thing and the muzzle.

FYI 9 percent to 14 percent represents a 56% increase in support, not a drop.

Large Breasts and Arnold are tied if you take the standard margin of error into account. You would think the Democratic front runner has expanded his base of support in the last two weeks. Nada! The margin for support of the recall is larger than in the Field Poll - by a factor of two. Gray Davis is toast. Republicans should get behind Arnold for when you put every one's votes together, he can beat Large Breasts hands down. Let's not blow it, people.

Where's the other 32% of the voters in the survey? Are there more undecideds than support any one candidate?

Yes, but Tom is still a distant third. Wasn't he the one telling us he was going to overtake Arnold by now and go on to win this?

Don't beat your head against a brick wall for too long, it could be dangerous to your well-being.

If Arnold doesn't represent the CA GOP "blowing it", I don't know what does. The party establishment has, by supporting a liberal, blown the chance to have a worthy governor in Sacramento.

Let's see if this is even a "Field Poll" before discussing this seriously. No source has been provided.

There are undecideds and I'm not surprised. I think every one is waiting for a last minute nasty leak to be revealed about Arnold by the Democrats in the last 48 hours before the election. I'm sure they've saved the best for last. And you never know if the election is going to be cancelled, so why bother making up your mind if you're never going to get anywhere near a voting booth?

The only poll that matters is the one on Oct. 7. I don't believe traditional polling will really produce reliable results in this most unusual election.

Leadership skills are far more valuable than "knowledge of the issues". Administrators and clerks can provide all the detailed knowledge you need but that doesn't make them leaders.

Schwarznegger dwarfs McClintock in proven leadership skills.

It's the values that count, and the ability to drive those values into the system from the top down.

Being a competent bureaucrat is not a positive reason to elect a politician.

Wow! If the Field Poll has Arnold within 2% at 26%, he must now really be around 40%. The Democrat strategy of keeping no chance candidate McClintock in the race to get Bust-MEChA elected must not be working.

Cool.
