My vote
Washington, Jefferson, maybe Adams
moneywise they did not need it or seem to want to accumalate it. Darn if Reagan did not seem honest.

We have had only two HONEST presidents, in my opinion. Abraham Lincoln and Herbert Hoover.
What about Coolidge? And Reagan?
To: RonHolzwarth
James Garfield probably told the least lies during his presidential term....but then again, his term lasted less than a year.

Wasn't Barbara Bush from a wealthy family? The Pierce family?

All cities were subsidizing stadiums. The Ballpark in Arlington has been good for the city.
$10 million is closer to what he sold for. I forget the amount but it was under $20 million. He did nothing illegal--it played out on the front-pages.

the profitability of his investment shot up, and he sold his share for $50 million.
You got any proof of that idiotic number? If so show it...

CoastToCoastAm regular guest David Icke says the Bush family members are reptilians. An earlier FreeRepublic thread discussed this surprise revelation. Google returned this link for the thread, http://209.157.64.200/focus/f-news/973776/posts
Gee now that Art Bell is taking over the weekends from Barbara Simpson the President will be hammered seven days a week all night long.
Reptilians BTW are the world's power. They have all the money they want. Mystery solved.

Bush Sr partook of the Global Crossing fraud as well. As I remember the stock he got for speaking was an IPO with a very minimal initial value. Stock shot up to $15 mil overnite. Guess George was just lucky, huh?

than the Bush family.

You mean being honest I take it.
Reagan was certainly no blue blood.

In his own words?
Very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet.
My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Some times he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy, the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.
My childhood was typical, summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds, pretty standard really.
At the age of 12 I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen, a Zoroastrian woman named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum, it's breathtaking, I suggest you try it.

The President's great-grandfather owned an foundry in Ohio, and was, of all things, a Democrat. His son, the President's grandfather, went to Yale and became an investment banker at Brown Brothers Harriman on Wall Street, where the real money was. In such a position, one can get in on any number of investment opportunities. Eventually, Prescott Bush went into politics, as a Republican Senator from Connecticut, and, of all things, a fairly strong protectionist.
Don't believe the Nazi rumors. All American banking houses and many industrial corporations had ongoing investments in Germany. Maybe they should have sold up, but not doing so doesn't make them Nazis.
Prescott staked his son George some money for oil exploration in West Texas, and George built up an oil company, and followed his father into politics. His wife Barbara's family had been involved in magazine publishing and were well off, though not as rich as the Bushes.
George in turn gave his son money to start up in oil. From what I've heard he wasn't quite as successful a businessman as his father or grandfather, though he did do well as owner of a baseball team.

-------------------
As I remember from articles here posted several years ago, he had little investment in it other than contributing the family name. His share was $18,000,000 not $50,000,000.
