Through the week, many of us heard of FReepers who were in the path of Isabel. I personally know Gabz, Corin Stormhands and Consitution Day were in the area. I thought it would be a good idea if we had a thread to ask if someone is ok and let them check in. Prayers to our FRiends in harms way. Thanks!

Long time lurker, but since I live 20 miles south of Downtown Baltimore, in beautiful Anne Arundel county. I thought I would reply. The storm has caused most of Maryland to loose power. My county is 90% dark, with a projection of weeks to fully recover. The winds were bad, and took out lots of trees. This took out power lines, damaged houses etc.
Right now the Inner harbor area of Baltimore city is flooded for blocks from the harbors edge, we are talking 3 blocks from normal waters edge, it is knee deep. With basements of the local office buildings flooding. Washington is hit harder with flooding.
Both cities have no public transportation systems functional. Only 2 traffic deaths to report so far, so God was with us. Property can be replaced, rebuilt, but not loved ones.
Hope this came out right, forgive the typos, been up all night checking my flooded basement

How was the flooding?

Glad you're OK CD!
Hope everyone else is fine. I'm in Texas, so I didn't see any of it.

Heard a note of thanks for kind thoughts from IT last night. Howlin wrote at 3AM that her 42 yo s-i-l may have had a heart attack. No updates since.
Glad to hear you are ok this morning.

I have a mess in the yard I'm about to go out and clean up....I see some moisture in the basement.
All in all, not much of a mess at all! I've seen worse. Thank you for checking on me. That was sweet.

Any idea how far away her s-i-l is? I hope she didn't try to drive last night!

I was in Newport News (Fort Eustis) for some training that was supposed to last all week. After training on Tuesday, they gave us the order to go back home. I'm safely back in Alabama!

Yikes! I hope Howlin's sister in law is ok.
We didn't get much rain here either. Just lots of downed trees. I'm going to go recharge the laptop. I have 33 minutes of power left. I don't think my phone cord will reach to the truck...
Our basement is dry too.
Thanks to the guy upstairs.

Thank goodness you're okay, and it wasn't too horrid for you.
I think a lot of us who were not in that storm are about as nervous as the ones who were in it! Thanks for checking in.
It was awful nice of netmilsmom to start this thread. What a good idea.

No flooding in Edgecombe that I know of.
According to the link below, Craven & Pamlico counties had extensive flooding, and "Elizabeth City 'just got pounded' and has no electricity".
Also, Jennette's Pier in Nags Head was destroyed.
