I might be good to mention that your chapter has been for holding suport the troops rallies for two years right across the street from Peace Fresno without incident. They knew who you were and they knew you were not violent. I'm going to suppose this DeGraff fellow had been there many times.

The fact is DeGraff and Peace Fresno used their cronies on the HRC to libel, harass and intimidate you simply because you held a different point of view regarding the war on terror (better to use this term instead of "the war"). Stress the point that Peace Fresno was well aware of who you were and what you stood for and that this was an example of the tyranny of the left in trying to silence opposing viewpoints.

Former Fresno Mayor Jim Patterson just called the talk show. He says the HRC has become very polical. The commission did some good things in the beginning but now is used as a tool to repay political favors. ie: The appointment of Debbie Reyes, sister of Assemblywoman Sara Reyes.

He feels that the current council members should either disband the HRC or dismiss them all and re-appoint people more fair politically.

Former mayor made some good points. Anyone else in the Fresno area hear him?

I think, all and all, the HRC came off looking very bad for many reasons. It is outrageous that taxpayer money is funding this group. They have become exactly what they are supposed to be monitoring in the community.

I just love Mayor Autry's comment about them being "politically intoxicated". That says it all right there.

That is exactly what this is about.

Our local talk radio station just ended a two hour call in show about the HRC. Ladyinred called in and did a wonderful job explaining the entire issue. The consensus is that the HRC has become nothing more than a group of political activists using their commission to attack those who oppose their political views, and they should be disbanded. Of those who called into the show, there were few, if any, who defended this group, outside of one man who sits on the commission. And, his attempts to defend the HRC did more harm than good.

The fact that this group is funded by the City of Fresno is outrageous.

We need to demand an accounting of the HRC budget of $193,000. The City of Fresno is cutting services to schools, etc. I think it is time to shift this $193,000 to a more deserving area or return it to the taxpayers!

The Left gets by with this garbage because they demonize the opposition. Merely wanting an account of how the spend their money is pretty tame stuff. The solution is to give it right back to them.

If Freepers are "hate mongers," the proper response is that these people are "Fresno Fascists."

I know with businesses that are publicly traded, a person can file a complaint with the SEC requesting an investigation. Can't the same be done with a county/town/city is some form?
