It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.

monsters of steel and glass

belching black gaseous clouds

As we pray for them, we pray also for all our nation’s leaders, and military personnel, and their families and friends. May God hold them close to His heart.

We ask Lord, that You guide the leaders of our great country in their hour of decision. The burden that has been placed on their shoulders is overwhelming. We ask that with Your infinite wisdom You guide them gently to the right decisions.

Please give us the strength, Lord, to get through each difficult and devastating day that faces each of us and our country. Protect and guide our Military that are now being called to duty, strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Legitimate questions and ones that, although we know the answer to, nothing is really being done.

I've never quite understood that. I realize keeping our borders open has always been our custom - and a good one it was, too, for it allowed my grandparents to legally immigrate here and become productive, naturalized citizens.

But, it's a different world today. Along with it being a different world, I think we seriously need to rethink our open-border, open-arms policies.

Sorry you never got to go. I had friends from out of state here once and they didnt want to go to the top. After 9/11 they all called me wishing they had.

I know it isn't same same but you have my pictures, story and others as memories and by all means please share mine with me anytime you like.

.45MAN is still not up to par and I need to get away from the 'puter and tend to him for the rest of the evening.

I am sitting here thinking about 9/11/01 and the months that followed.

Remembering finding out my high school friend's brother Michael, a firefighter lost his life that day. My cousins good friend, Denis lost his brother Michael (also a firefighter) that day. He was preparing for retirement.

Attended the funeral of a hometown hero, Chief Downey. His body was not recovered. The fire truck with a fire hat layed on a bed of flowers. Heartbreaking.

The freepers we lost. Corresponded by email with John Moran's wife, Kim. I pray that her and her children are doing well.

My cousin's husband Woody worked in a building near the trade towers and ran from the hell around him. He feels guilty that he survived and so many lost their lives. Doesn't talk much about that day.

My cousin's husband Kevin is a construction worker, he worked for months in the recovery phase.

Just breaks my heart.

All of America was affected that day. Thinking about the families that lost loved ones on 9/11 brings the tears on. God Bless them all.

My thoughts and prayers are with all.

I am so happy to finally be here on FR and join with you all in remembering the attack on our country, but how America answered with bravery, compassion, tireless effort, dignity, and patriotism! Today I worked extra hard, on the final hours of a campaign for a fine conservative whom I respect. I will NOT lie down, nor be defeated by the liberals.
