If I lived in California Tom would have my vote.

Tom's problem is that he has some distracting mannerisms.
When I was a Marine NCO, I was very careful about my gestures and facial expressions, because people will fixate on those and ignore what you're saying.
When he appears on TV, he just completely shafts himself.

Davis, Ah-nold, Cruzie, the 9th Circuit... All leftist birds of a feather.

Tom McClintock did a marvelous job of answering the questions on Hannity and Colmes tonight. Just the opposite of Arnold's poor perfromance on O'Reilly's Factor show.
No wonder Arnold doesn't want to debate McClintock. He'd get his clock cleaned, royally! McClintock may be a policy guy, but the more I see him, the more he impresses me. McClintock seems like a fair minded individual and a guy you could go out and have a beer with. He really has a passion for fiscal responsibility and knows the future of California is in jeapordy, if either liberal (Arnold or Cruz) is elected. McClintock would make a good governor. McClitnock knows what is facing California and can get the job done.

Did you watch the debate? What I said is true! I don't know what it is about his eyes -- couldn't figure it out! BTW, why pick on me. I didn't post the picture. I asked that night of the debate what was wrong when he looked at the camera. I notice things like that -- sorry!

"Have you ever been to Ventura County? If not, then don't tell us about McClintock's political career being over."
I've been to Ventura County, lotsa times. Does that mean I can opine about McClintock's political future?
The actual fact is he hasn't won an election, beyond his home districts in Ventura County (but he has tried three times, now).
A fine man. Intelligent, but inflexible. Not a strong fundraiser. Said to not be a team player.
If he comes out of this as something of a team player, in the end he should have a good future. He will have obtained a lotta unpaid exposure, which is good.
It gives him name recognition, like Arnold had going in. Might look forward to Controller, or Lt. Governor. Maybe even Governor.

Exactly ! That's why Indian Gambling Tom McClintock needs to get out and endorse the REAL, REALLY, REALLY, REAL, Republican, Truer than true blue conservative Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I am concern about the absentees that went out this week- if a person voted for Tom then in the end he drops out- then a vote is wasted and Busty wins.
Spare us that ordeal.
Tom should go gracefully at this time so there will be no mistake who wins- Arnold is the most popular . Tom is smart on the answers because he has been in politics a long time. Arnold is a fresh face but can be a leader and popular with the folks.
To: PhiKapMom
He had that same look during the debate! Really odd look! But howdy, if he were to 'take one for the team' everyone would forget about his looks & really back him against Boxer next year...

I don't think so.
The quotes atrributed to McClintock in the article you linked appear to have him much more on the offensive than he was during tonight's H&C interview.
To: Pubbie
How many votes would it take for SCOTUS to vacate the ruling?5. And they've usually overruled the 9th by 9-0 votes, even after eight years of Clinton.
PS: That's not the McClintock backers plan, that's the DNC in conjunction with the 9th Circuit's plan of action.
The fact that the McClintockites are rooting for a DNC plan is enough to give me pause.

I understood him to say that if he was trailing in the polls, he understood that some of his supportERS would vote for Arnold so that the election didn't go to Bustamante. Sean gave him the statistic that 67% of Arnold's voters would ask him to bow out if McClintock is ahead and that 60% of HIS voters would ask that he bow out if Arnold was ahead so as NOT to give the election to Bustamante.

C'mon, let's be fair here. Making fun of McClintock's looks is a cheap shot As a cheap shot, it's roughly equivalent to Davis making fun of Schwarzenegger's pronunciation of 'California.'
To: ambrose
Absolutely. And don't forget that other lunatic who is reduced to complaining about the look of Sen. McClintock's lips. That's about as brilliant as our Alaskan candidate for Governor back in '94 who decided to attack the 'Rat candidate because of his full head of hair. You can guess who won that election (and now threatens to take a Senate seat from us up there next year).

If he isn't elected governor this time, he'll be re-elected to the senate in '04, then take Elton Gallegly's seat in Congress when Gallegly retires. There aren't enough RINOs in Ventura County to take him down.
