It’s 4:46am September 6.

Its a little more than 100 hours from the Second Anniversary of Start the World Trade Center Attack and the subsequent Strike on the Pentagon and the Crash in Pennsylvania. 100 hours seems to be a long time; however, it is barely enough to reflect and remember all those who perished on the ground and in the air. Each one of the victims has a story, a life, that if retold would take more than 100 hours to appreciate the richness of their stay on this earth before it was snatched away.

Since 911, there has been more sacrifice. More have taken from this earth – this time not in tragedy but in a quest for justice and the expansion of freedom. They were not helpless victims but Heroes of liberation for the Afghanis and Iraqis and protectors of our domestic security.

We would hope that you would take the time and reflect on the lives of those who died on 9-11 and those who have sacrificed their all since that day in these next 100 hours. Please contribute a post of reflection, a prayer, a memorial, a picture or even just a ping to your friends to let them know that 9-11 has not been ignored this year.

Thank you for the information about the exhibit. I feel drawn to it. I will definitely go, probably more than once. I only wish my son was old enough to go. He's only six, and I'll spare him this for a few more years.

Then I'm going to go out and do everything I can politically to spare him from it ever happening again.

God is with us every step of the way.
Even when the twin towers went down that day.
The people in the rubbish remain
but their souls are in heaven not in vain.

Even though our loved ones died
our flag stands for freedom and still flies high.
We will always remember those who passed away
always and forever to this day.

God bless the U.S.A.
That the fight against terrorism will soon go away.
Lord may there be peace all the world round.
That never again may we hear that sound.
Sept 11 was a sad tragedy all of us will remember.
But I will proudly say God bless America in every way.


Emotions

We have all cried before
We have all been scared before
But not like this
Our tragedy happened two years ago
And it is still not over to this day
For many this day started the same
As any other normal day

I went to school not knowing
That this day would be remembered forever
The students did not know what was wrong
But we were asked to say a rosary and we did

When I got home I found out what was wrong
We were under attack
It was on every radio and television station
You could not watch cartoons or
Listen to music on the radio
We all prayed for the people
And many were saved
Fear was the first emotion we felt

Anger was the second emotion

For my friends and myself
Anger is what we felt after fear

The nation had a lot of anger
And felt we had to get even
We declared war on these people who did this
Many people from different countries felt
Our pain
Our fear
Our anger

Survival is the third emotion
We felt

Even though many people died
Many more people survived
Our great nation began to fall
But our nation
Did not fall
Our nation grew stronger


Dear Lord,
I come to you today with a heavy heart. Our world is at war and our country is sad and sorrowful. Lord, please turn our sadness into joy, turn our tears into compassion, turn our anguish into hope, turn our sorrow into happiness, and Lord, please bring us peace
Peace among nations,
Peace among men,
Peace amongst our churches,
Peace amongst our leaders,
Peace in our homes,
Peace in our schools,
Peace in our jobs,
Peace with one another,
And Peace in our hearts Lord,
Bring us Peace.
Jesus often said, "Peace be with you," to his disciples.
Lord, please help us to live that verse.
AMEN

We will never forget the cries for help we heard that awful day.
Or the screams of terror that were yelled and in an instant gone away.
Or the children asking what had happened and the
Teachers saying everything was going to be ok.
While the Loved Ones waited at home for their pain to go away.
For last words spoken on the phone before they were taken away.
And the brave Firefighters who responded so quickly to see the towers crumble that day.
We will always remember the tears cried out on that awful day;
And the hugs and kisses that were given to the people who made it out okay.
For all the flags that flew high on that tragic September
Day would only prove to show that America was here to stay.
While people knelt down on the street with nothing to do
But pray while looking up to heaven and begging their
Savior not to take their loved ones away.
A year has passed and we’re still here stronger every day.
Just goes to show that God above loves the U. S. A.

Next year we should move to a more appropriate 911 hours of Remembrance. Plenty of time for angst, hand wringing, and feeling sorry for ourselves.

I do not se any hand ringing here. What I see is a memorial of a day that erased our innocence.

Like Pearl harbor this is a day that changes America forever

I saved all my emails from 9-11-01. This is one of them I sent to a co-worker, which I posted on FR.com that very day after watching the towers fall...

I am sick and tired...

I am sick and tired of our country playing nice.

I am sick and tired of our country being played as fools.

I am sick and tired of our country being used as negotiators in peace treaties that ultimately make us targets.

I am sick and tired of the perception the our country is weak.

I am sick for all the families and loved ones who have suffered today.

I am sick for all the Americans who have watched this frame by frame, moment-by-moment on television.

Yet, I know this country will unite behind this attack.

I know that all Americans will not tolerate this kind of treachery.

I know that all Americans will want justice.

And I know that President Bush will do the right thing.

Like all other FReepers, today, my emotions have run the gamut from sadness, to anger, to such inspired patriotism, that I only hope the thugs and cowards that did this will realize that we may be down, but we ain't out.

And we are coming to get you.

I agree - but I think it changed the WORLD forever. No one in the USA will EVER forget! Who ever thought that the USA would ever be attacked on the homeland? Not me, not you, probably no one living here. It hadn't happened since Pearl Harbor. And that wasn't the mainland. Guess we all wizened up.

At least I hope so.

The names, the photos of their diving and dying, the fiery implosion, the silent dust.

Now we liberate twenty-five million Iraqis and as many in Afghanistan, and continue to draw the killers to their deaths, transforming terror into freedom.

Of course the junior senator from New York can only bitch about the air quality at Ground Zero--

It was the criminal negligence of her regime which created the hell on earth for these innocents.

As my copy of Richard Miniter's Losing bin Laden is on its way, our prayers are on theirs, that this is the end of terror--
