MECHA.ORG WEBSITE PULLED SINCE SPOTLIGHT TURNED ON THEM

Since Michelle Malkin and others have been examining the racist hate group "MECHA" and pointing to their flagship website MECHA.ORG as plain and clear evidence of their hate and violent tendencies MECHA has restricted access to the content of the site by replacing the hate filled blogs and diatribes with a plain blank page. No errors. No redirects. Just nothing.

That site has been available online continuously for a long time and for this to happen at this time when for the first time in a LONG time (like forever?) when the spotlight is turned on their true nature - their site gets (literally) whitewashed? Go figure!

I predict that MECHA.ORG will pop back up soon with a completely new look. No eagle holding a stick of dynamite. No hate speech or Marxist propaganda. No calls to "revolution". Watch and see.

This is bad for the credibility of those pointing to that site as publically available PROOF of what MECHA and its followers believe and practice. No doubt a gesture towards their sleeper Cruz Bustamante and those shining the light on his racist affiliations and past.

Anyone happen to have a saved copy of that site before they took it down in the atypical Marxist style of hiding like roaches when the lights are turned on?

The pressure upon Bustamante has increased greatly ever since information became widely known that Republican Party candidate Arnold Schwarzenegger's father was a Nazi "brownshirt" in Austria and that Arnold has social connections with former president of Austria, Kurt Wilhelm, another Nazi implicated in war time atrocities. It appears that Republicans favoring Schwarzenegger want to even the score.

There is, of course, no comparison between the Nazi Party in Germany and a student group that struggles to increase educational opportunities for Chicanos and Mexican-Americans at colleges and universities that have traditionally shut the doors to Latinos. Cruz Bustamante owes his political success largely to the training he received as a Mechista and is unlikely to turn his back on his comrades that gave him his start at Fresno State University. Without MEChA at Fresno State University, Bustamante may have never set foot on campus. One of MEChA's primary missions is to recruit promising students from high schools in the community and to provide social, cultural and academic support to assure that recruited students graduate.

Rejected Americanization

Participants were reminded that previous generations of Mexican- Americans completing academic programs had abdicated their responsibility to their people. They had been "Americanized" by the schools. The schools had conditioned them to accept the dominant values of American society, particularly "individualism", at the expense of their Mexican identity. This rejection of Americanization set the mood for Chicanas and Chicanos to abandon the "Sal Si Puede" mentality.

The MEChA External Structure

Since the conception of MEChA at the Chicano Coordinating Council on Higher Education at UC Santa Barbara in 1969- MEChA has become a national organization. Now MEChA Chapters are organizing on campuses throughout Aztlan. At the national level MEChA is organized into regional bodies much like the great confederations of our ancestors in the valley of Anahuak***.

At the present time there are ten regions recognized by the National MEChA structure:

1. Pacific Northwest
2. Alta Califas Norte
3. Centro Califas
4. Alta Califas Sur
5. Calpulli Montañas del Norte Coast
6. Centro Aztlan
7. Southeast Tejaztlan
8. Midwest Region
9. Este Aztlan
10. Mictlampa Ciuhaltlampa



In the State of California we are organized into three regions:

· Alta Califa Norte MEChA Región
· Alta Califas Sur California MEChA Región
· Centro California MEChA Region****

Each Region meets on a monthly basis in order to keep lines of communication open between chapters and Centrales, in order to coordinate actions on a region wide level. Within each Region are Centrales; a Central is an entity, which is formed by multiple MEChA chapters to better serve the Chicana/o community. Centrales meet regularly for the same purposes as Regions, but seek to outline and implement plans of action for their particular area, usually within a county.

In the Alta Califas Sur M.E.Ch.A. Region there are five Centrales:

· Inland Empire M.E.Ch.A. Central
· Inland Valley M.E.Ch.A. Central
· Los Angeles County M.E.Ch.A. Central
· M.E.Ch.A. Central de San Diego
· Orange County M.E.Ch.A. Central

In the Alta Califas Norte M.E.Ch.A. Region exist two Centrales:

· Tlatokan Ameyal M.E.Ch.A. Central
· Penutian M.E.Ch.A. Central
