My nephew, Jordan, who is the son of fellow FReeper InGodWeTrust, is having open heart surgery at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin tomorrow, Sept 4. Jordan is 13 and contracted a very severe case of Rheumatic fever, which has attacked and damaged two of his heart valves. The surgeons will have to repair/replace them both in surgery expected to last 5+ hours. My sister and her husband are scared to death, Jordan is being very brave, and Auntie (me)has decided the best thing I could do for all of them is to ask for prayers for successful surgery and speedy recovery.
Thanks, and God Bless every one of you.

(Ping me as many times as is necessary, Gramma. If you'd pinged me earlier, I'd missed it. These prayer concerns are priority!)

Late morning update: Jordan continues to improve. Mom and dad had to leave in order to get him to sleep: he just wants to visit! The boy is a prince and has the ICU staff wrapped around his finger. He is thanking everyone profusely for helping him. This morning he raised his right hand to shake his nurses hand and said, "I want to thank you for doing such a great job taking care of me." When the respiratory therapist said, "I know you're tired and your chest hurts, but could you give me 10 more breaths?" Jordan said, " I could do this for you all day!"
I can't wait to see him later. What a kid!

Afternoon Praise for an elated young man ... Heavenly Father, thank You for the work You have done in the heart and health of Jordan ... may those who have and will be attending him, offer thanksgiving to You. Instill them with wisdom and skill as they seek complete healing.
Throughout the days, Lord, temper the ups and downs of emotion with the steadiness of Your hand, that there be reassurance and not anxiety as Jordan is restored to health. How we rejoice with the family ... thank You for what You've done for them ... we give to You all Praise in the name of Jesus, Amen ...
