Um, I saw the same thing during the Riordan-Simon "debates" on this forum last year. The Riordan folks were happy to denigrate and slam the Simon folks, and vice versa. Just an observation.

Pot, kettle, black. I've seen much the same by Arnold's supporters, and their treatment of McClintock supporters.

That's just bull. McClintock supporters are twice as negative as Arnold's supporters. I rarely if ever see an Arnold supporter attack McClintock or his supporters integrity or principles, while it is open season around here on Arnie's guys. I asked for some examples on other threads of McClintock supporters being attacked and the worst I heard was that someone said McClintock had been called a "loser" by and Arnold supporter. GASP!

The assertion that Arnie's supporters sling mud with the same proficiency as McClintock supporters just doesn't hold water. Though, McClintock supporters repeatedly make this assertion in defense of their relentless negativity.

Republican like so many on here... I only support candidates who at least share some of my core beliefs.

So it wouldn't bother you in the least if Bustamante was crowned governor?

So every time Arnold and Maria visited the "Kennedy Kompound", Ol' Ted Kennedy would be in his ear the whole time, bitching and moaning about the "eeeeeviiillll Republicans" out to get our Bill.

Gets to the point where Arnold can't take it anymore and tells Fatso to just S.T.F.U. Fatso, being the politician he is, wants something from Arnie. Hence, Arnie's Republican mea culpa.

Yeah, thats the ticket.

Absolutely. The mere mention of the more qualified and more conservative candidate brings out catcalls along the lines of anti-California, Cruz-loving, rat-supporting, anti-American, anti-Bush.

Yeah right. I don't think so. I haven't read Ah-hold's supporters bring up anything of those things except perhaps in response to a RINO tirade by a McClintock supporter.

Can anyone link me to the full poll data statement? The one with all the propeller-head stuff about sample size, methodology, etc., etc. This could be a very small poll size, or an internal (which is often a push-) poll, etc. Just curious. Anyone? Bueller?

All of the Polls but the kookie Times poll showed. Arnie on top followed by Bustamante followed by McClintock. Without 10 points seperating each.

Incorrect.

This poll is actually most variant than other polls.

It is the self defined "real conservatives" who have name-called potential voters. It is not the other way around.

Absoutely, though they will vehemently assert that just the opposite is true. I notice it has become a standard tactic for this group.

What I don't get is what benefit an Arnold victory brings.

I'm sure that there are many potential benefits...but let me just tell you a little story and then provide you with the most shallow of benefits that an Arnold victory brings:

I live up here in Western Washington, in the state capitol, in as wacko and rabid a leftist area as it is possible to find (yes, including San Francisco or Berkeley). The people up here split about 80-20: 80 being the far out leftists and greens, with about 18 of 20 being McCain moderates and about 2 percent conservatives (and I'm being generous to the conservatives).

I talk to lots and lots of Democrats (that's just about all there is up here to talk to. Generally, the Democrats are not very fond of Clinton (Bill that is, Hillary they really like). Clinton just wasn't liberal enough for their taste. But there is one thing they very much liked about him and it trumped everything else. What is it? He beat Republicans and drove Republicans nuts. For that alone, the love him to the ends of the earth.

Well, for me, the great thing about Arnold is that he beats the Democrats, takes their power from them and drives them nuts. And Democrats worship power. It is their God. For them to have their power taken from them (especially in a state that they consider is theirs to own), will drive them completely, totally, stark raving mad.

And that is a benefit that Arnold brings. And, by damn, that's good enough for me.

Call me a liar all you want but I can read. I've been called similar things myself! I don't RINO tirade and I've never denigrated anybody here who supports Arnie. You can't really believe the hostility is all one way.

That's just Schadenfreude. I was thinking of something more tangible.

Sure it would. But if he won fair and square without the usual Rat ballot stuffing, then that's simply the way the cookie will have to crumble. I don't see how Bustamante is that much worse than Ahnold. I really don't. Both will raise our taxes, but at least Busty is open and honest about his intentions.

Taking power away from Democrats is the most tangible benefit that it is possible to achieve...at any time, at any place. Taking power from traitors is the most important political goal that can ever be achieved. The Democrats have declared total permanent war on us and are willing to destroy the country to achieve their power. There is no higher calling than defeating them.

After having read the excellent book, "Mobocracy: How the Media’s Obsession with Polling Twists the News, Alters Elections and Undermines Democracy," by Matthew Robinson, I don't trust ANY poll — not when one boosts my candidate or issue, nor when one says the opposition is ahead. The following synopsis is from a review of MOBocracy by National Review book service:

Matthew Robinson marshals a comprehensive array of evidence and arguments that prove that polls are anything but scientific, and that they cut off debate and undermine new ideas. He reveals how even the most widely-touted polls are seriously flawed in their sample selection and in the way they frame questions, how media coverage fatally skews results, and how polls are abused to advance agendas. Worst of all, Robinson shows how an apathetic, uninformed American public has swallowed the mythology of polling whole — and how our constitutional self-rule is endangered as a result.
