Simon Supporters:

First let me say how gracious and selfless Simon was in stepping aside for the greater good of the party and state. I respect Simon for doing so and he may have gained an opportunity next year against Boxer. I want to invite you into Arnold's camp. There's a lot of misinformation out there about Arnold's conservative credentials. I wanted to set the record straight- for a complete analysis on Arnold's politics (hint: he is No "liberal"), please visit: The Inside Scoop.

This election should be focused on who can we trust to get California out of the economic mess we are in. California has the 5th largest GDP in the world, yet we are one step from our state bonds bieng classified as junk bonds. What we need is a canidate who will bring both businesses and jobs back to California. Someone that can put us back on the track of prosperity. Arnold's strong business exerience and talented economic council is the answer. His emphasis is on the right issue: create the condition for economic growth and job creation.

And please pass this Inside Scoop link on to any and all other Simon supporters who are considering joining Team Arnold. We need to back a winner and Arnold offers our best chance against Bustamante.

Remarkably entertaining, especially when one considerings that Simon supporters will find a candidate more in tune with their core conservative values with Tom McClintock than they will with Arnold

Not only that, but listening to both of them talk about their plans is like the difference between night and day. McClintock is so clearly spot on with what SPECIFICALLY needs to be done, and how to do it. He's been in the gut of Sacramento for years and years and his grasp on the issues is impressive. Arnold talks in generalities and platitudes and seems clueless.

A McClintock supporter response point-by-point:

Let's see here, we ask for principles and you believe we are self-righteous. Well, answer this, if you dare..."Did you support Arnold BEFORE he said anything or is your support a recent revelation?

Next thing we know, McClintock will be calling for a statue of the ten commandments in every state owned building... Maybe he could even get Judge Moore to campaign for him in california so the "true conservatives" can drive away the "moderate rinos" they hate...

Not a bad idea regarding the Ten Commandments in all State owned buildings...I would support that. As for hating RINOS, I will speak for myself when I say that I do not hate them...I believe they do not stay with core principles, blow with the wind, are in the middle-of-the-road (usually a two lane road) and appease only when necessary (which is most of the time). Judge Moore is a good man standing up for principles...but alas, you probably don't understand what that means...

Of course they don't go look at the website. Too busy foaming at the mouth over the reality that is coming like a freight train. Arnold will win. Without them. Their self-marginalization as "the only TRUE conservatives" will have completely removed their place at the table... and the conservative "moral conservatives only need apply " wing of the republican party will go the way of the reform party...

Typical Arnold supporter rant, no response necessary.

They know it, and are desperate to prevent the inevitable. Politics does not REQUIRE compromise it IS COMPROMISE and those who don't (as ronald reagan did) compromise, eventually self-eviscerate...

Reagan believed in peace through strength. What you propose is to give in to the left prior to battle even starting...sounds alot like the Iraqis that surrendered before the war during British target practice...

and then cry martyr martyr woe is me... I actually wish them well on their forty year journey into the political wilderness.

More rant...and while we are talking about it, who are the ones holding up Bush policies??? Did you say Snow, Chafee, et. al, hummm??? Aren't they MODERATES???

I don't think so. I think every day Tom stays in, he is hurting his political future and he will insist on staying in, until the end and Arnold loses to Bustamante by about the margin of the votes Tom gets, the Republican party will not be very forgiving, and rightly so.

Issa did the most noble and the SMARTEST thing, when he decided to not even put his name on the ballot, even though he put his own, personal money into the recall.

It's not too late for Tom & Peter to withdraw, but the clock is ticking loudly.

As I quoted from another article in another thread:

"Top Schwarzenegger aides said they are impressed with McClintock's ideas on rolling back the tripling of the car tax, instantly renegotiating the state's long-term energy contracts, reforming the workman's compensation system, and eliminating all duplicative state spending."

And added:

I think what would be best for CA AND McClintock is if he withdrew, supported Arnold, and accepted a position in Arnold's administration, or worked with Arnold from the CA Legilature,where he is now, then in 2008 Tom could run as a very credible candidate with broader support, as one, who was instrumental in turning CA around.

Conversely, if McClintock insists on staying in to the bitter end, and if Arnold loses, by about the margin, which went to McClintock, I doubt the Republican Party will be very forgiving.

In other words:
1. The Republican leader is unquestionably Arnold, with other Republicans far behind -- McClintock got half of the votes Arnold got, the rest got less.

2. If all Republicans would unite behind the Republican frontrunner: Arnold, he could beat Bustamante, getting 47% of the votes to Bustamante's 35%. 3. But if Republicans stay fractured, there is no way Arnold can beat Bustamante, and better get used to saying: Governor Bustamante.

I'm pro arnold... however....
there may be rove style strategery to keeping tom in till the last week or two...

Although I see him as a "milk of magnesia" republican, Tom's no idiot.
He no doubt wants the pubbies to win, no matter what... and being a "great team player" at a critical time could win him some real "coup" when he goes to unseat the shrimp on the barbieboxer...

in the meantime, he knows if Arnie wins, he gets an ally for the next year in the california senate/state house malaise. Being able to stop democraptic tactics with a veto that cannot be overridden by a team playing governor, could give the pubbies some leverage over the lefties they don't have right now.

This is a bit much. I'm leaning toward Arnold right now because I want a win but anyone who takes the time to study the candidates should know that Mclintock is a brilliant principalled conservative who is well qualified and deserves a fair shot.I wish the republican candidates would combine forces and launch a full scale assault on the real problem Davis and Bustemonte.
