Just heard on Tampa Radio news WFLA Terry Schiavo's review has been denied - the original judge will now set a time to pull Terri's feedings and start starving her...
God help a country where this is countenanced.

humanely letting someone go in her state? Death by starvation is humane? Please do some research about the case.
To: alisasny
You misunderstand her condition. She is not in a coma, ina persistent vegitative state, or on a ventilator.

I was thinking more along the lines of something that might actually help her (because I just don't think that politicians are going to be the ones to stop this - but, I'd love to be wrong). It just seems so hopeless.I agree with you 100%. Perhaps you can contact the family. Maybe if it got out to a wider media.

I watched the videos at her parents website to make sure. I still choose to not live like that.

I'm not sure you should.Actually, I need to get a grip on it, it has been 2 years now since he died. I had a nervous breakdown, am still having anxiety attacks and have developed high blood pressure. I have bitten my lips until they bleed, I just can't seem to stop, I do it unconsciously. I also have problems concentrating, which is making my work life difficult. I loathe psychiatrists and refuse to go on psychotropic drugs so I am just going to have to struggle through it somehow. I am just thankful he died a month before 9/11 and he did not have to witness that, he was such a patriot, it would have broken his heart. One of my favorite memories was when I drove all the way to Missouri from Texas to take him down in his wheelchair to vote for Bush. He was a Deacon before he got ill, but the mere mention of Clinton's name sparked profanities, LOL!

SO to live in Mrs. Sciavo's state is better than eternal life with our Savior? Frankly I choose eternal life. Its hard enough to life being fully functional.

But she hasn't even been allowed medical treatment, though there was money in a settlement for that purpose? Should we let a potential murderer decide if the victim should be able to live, something that could someday lead to his conviction.

I read some of the ways to help but I didn't see any of the following;
#1. 5 ,4 man teams armed with AR15's,tear gas and concussion grenades, and 1, 2 man team armed with .50 caliber Barretts take up defensive positions around her position not allowing the removable of the feeding tube.
#2. Locate husband, and eliminate him thus disallowing him from receiving financial benefit.
Now, I am in no way encouraging these actions nor condoning them, just pointing out there omission from the website.

Mrs. Schiavo can't now can she. She is dependant on others. She can not talk or express her wishes. I strongly believe she has no idea she is in this condition. I also believe if she knew she would ask to die. I don't care about the parents or the husband or what becomes of the money. I care about Terri. Can you in good conscious say that to stop this is helping Terri? Just wondering.

"Her family can still defy the judge and "kidnap" her.Her family should have done that years ago. I doubt they could do that now. Bet they are being watched CLOSELY. Step back and take in the big picture: I see this as a preview to gov't health care. When a person becomes a medical liability--just extinguish them. My raging liberal friend is always harping for gov't health care and I tell her if she wants a peek at what it will be like--go visit a VA hospital. Then look at situations like this and what the hell--throw in the abortion industry while you're at it. See the pattern? "The Gov'ts Right To Choose"

You want to debate drug law? Maybe some other time. With respect to this thread, I was merely pointing out that, in some matters of law, you do still "believe in the law" after all.

I don't know the woman, she could have been the biggest B**ch in the world before this. So granting her eternal life with our lord is somewhat presumptious, don't you agree? My position is she is not brain dead, she IS aware of her surroundings as evidencedby intereaction with any stimuli including pain. She does not have the mental capacity to make this descision such as Kevorkian's patients. What gives the right to another, to make it for her? If she were to pass away naturally then I would say DNR is a proper direction. That's not the case here. she is mentally challenged not brain dead. Buy your previous posts, one can sumise then that you are in favor of killing the mentally challenged?

It is the precedent. Where do you draw the line? If someone has a stroke that affects their speech, should they die by starvation too? What if a stroke affects their dominant side, and they can no longer walk, need to be fed. Should they die by starvation too?
What about amputees? Paraplegics? Quadriplegics? They don't meet your definition of perfection. Depression and schizophrenia affects the mind. Should we starve all of them to death too?
How about babies? Should we summarily kill every child with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and autism?
To: menotyu
She is way beyond mentally challenged. She can barely move. SHe can not speak. She has about as much quality of life as many other brain injured patients have.
Listen its a tough subject. I dont know her either. Let her live in that bed for the next 50 years...I really dont care. I just dont see how letting that continue is helping Terri.
Frankly sometimes I read about this case and while I am glad Terri can have a few minimul moter skills like a newborn if that much , I have found that the bickering is more to keep the husband from getting any estate settlement then anything regarding Terri. I am not saying you at all. I just get this feeling from many posts on this subject. What gain do the parents get out of keeping their child alive in this condition? Its hard to let go but next of kin has to be respected in this country. We are on a slippery slope as is..do we need next of kin abolished as well?
Sorry to get you angered or whatever. I just think there is a lot more here going on then the well being of Terri on both sides. Just my 2 cents.

And while I am on this subject.....
Who gave permission to view Terri on tv? It clearly was not Terri.
I find she is being exploited and I wonder for what gain.
Is this helping TERRI at all?

What gain do the parents get out of keeping their child alive in this condition? They get to do everything within their power to care and provide for their daughter rather than live with the nightmares that they forced her to die a slow, painful death.
