She is way beyond mentally challenged. She can barely move. SHe can not speak. She has about as much quality of life as many other brain injured patients have.

Listen its a tough subject. I dont know her either. Let her live in that bed for the next 50 years...I really dont care. I just dont see how letting that continue is helping Terri.

Frankly sometimes I read about this case and while I am glad Terri can have a few minimul moter skills like a newborn if that much , I have found that the bickering is more to keep the husband from getting any estate settlement then anything regarding Terri. I am not saying you at all. I just get this feeling from many posts on this subject. What gain do the parents get out of keeping their child alive in this condition? Its hard to let go but next of kin has to be respected in this country. We are on a slippery slope as is..do we need next of kin abolished as well?

Sorry to get you angered or whatever. I just think there is a lot more here going on then the well being of Terri on both sides. Just my 2 cents.

They get to do everything within their power to care and provide for their daughter rather than live with the nightmares that they forced her to die a slow, painful death.

I'm not angered, just passionate. Like that nurse's post (the one with the cool name)said where do you draw the line? Maybe in those 50 years there will be a "cure", a way of maybe regenerating the damaged parts of her brain so that she can become a functioning member of society. It's hope that keeps the parents going, it's hope that keeps anyone going in times of hardship, and let's pray that hope will touch this Judge's heart so that he will change his mind. Also if she is alive for the next 50 years and there is a "cure" for her, I hope after all the struggles and pain she's not broken by what was almost done to her by this judge and those who support this position.
