[history]
The UAW has asked Detroit's automakers to pay for voluntary abortions in its national contract talks, say officials at the union and the companies familiar with the talks.
The potentially explosive request was made to General Motors Corp. and Chrysler Group during talks about health care coverage, those officials said. They did not know whether it was also made to Ford Motor Co. during contract talks, which began in mid-July.

I wonder if people get abortions for their cats and dogs when they don't want the kittens and puppies?

This further serves to demonstrate how irresponsible the UAW is. One of the reasons that the the domestics have such high health care costs is related to the high absenteeism in the plants. (I retired from Ford after 32 years a while back.) In order to cover an absence, an hourly employee has to have a doctor's note unless its bereavement, military leave, or a prearranged absence. The doctors cooperate and charge the insurance carrier. Company paid abortions will result in more costs and more absences. The UAW has no intention of controlling health care costs in spite of any pious claims that the a$$hole president gettlefinger makes.

I sat in a cafe with a group of people as they told stories of hiding screws and bolts inside door panels or other areas to cause a Cadillacs or Chevy to have a rattle nobody could find. Everyone thought it was so clever. I wonder how many think it is clever that they have lost market share?
Now the union instead of working on making the product better and rewarding quality wants to give people time off for murder. They have been getting away with it for some time why not name it and get paid for it.

Memo to UAW management: You guys do this, and I will NEVER buy another car assembled by union labor.

It time for a national "right to work" law.

OK it's understood that a labor union will always ask for more. And in terms of cost to the employer, this isn't a biggie.
Spin it that way, it's a typical union tactic and not a biggie, right?
It shows that the UAW is tied in with the rest of the leftist agenda.

I can see the shift supervisor now: ``uh Bill, is this this correct, you were gone yesterday because you had an abortion?''

United Auto Workers UAW say "By American" do they also want to tell us "not to mind a little innocent blood on their products"?
UAW: Un-American Abortion Warriors, in league with the political party of death.
If you claim to be pro-life but vote for a pro-abortion politician are you REALLY pro-life? The answer is NO.

It prompted Monica Migliorino Miller, director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, which says it has about 5,000 members in Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin, to plan a picket outside of UAW Solidarity House in Detroit within the next few weeks. The guys better be ready with steel toe boots, baseball bats, and be ready for a street fight.

I agree. Catholic priests have to be more aggressive and start telling their parishoners that they can not vote for anti-life candidates.

Think of what an impact they could have made had they chosen to come out on the side of seeking coverage and benefits for the unborn, instead of reimbursement for serial killings. What has America sunken to, when the UAW defends and seeks coverage for serial killing the most vulnerable amongst us?
I thought it was horrible when politicians spoke out regularly to defend the indefensible. But now, even the salt is losing its savor ... I wonder how UAW member practicing catholics will rationalize this? Surely the democrat party, the party of abortion, will help them cope ... something along the lines of that deluding the 'savvy' democrat catholic politicians who support abortion holocaust no doubt. The father of lies has many followers ...

We have not bought any American made cars for several years now. Why? ...fed up and disgusted with unions supporting every left wing cause there is and now this!
I would like to know what others are doing or planning to do as far as car buying.

According to my information no foreign auto plant in the US is controlled by unions. So, if Pro Life needs to publicly come out and tell its supporters that buying union is antithetical to the cause. Alternatively try reforming the unions - an impossible task because their leadership is infested by ideological left wingers. The only way this will change is if unionists throw out their leadership.
In the meantime buy foreign and let the dealers know why!
