"There are 1 million more registered Democrats in California than than Republicans."

So I guess that means that we Republicans should just not bother and stay home, right?

And if Simon would get out of the way, McClintock would trounce Arnold?

Do you want an actor in Sacramento or an executive with years of political experience? The choice is yours.

They're the only ones on the ballot? I thought there were 135 people on the ballot.

Bush and Dole lost because conservatives had hissy fits and stayed home rather than get out and vote. Reagan didn't win solely on conservative votes...he won with the Reagan Democrats. Reagan appealed to moderates and independents...that's how he won.

Unless and until California conservative GOPers GROW UP and support ALL party candidates, not just their blue-blood conservatives, they will continue to be the perennially irrelevant chihuahuas barking at the legs of the Rats who control the state.

McClintock has a snowball's chance in hell of winning and Bill Simon is even worse off. But noooo...let's all just stay home...that'll teach them to mess with us conservatives!!

Important points some people may not have known:

NO ONE in that group, NO ONE, could understand the state budget!! NO ONE knows where the money is goig.

Arnold says the first thing is to hire an independent auditor to figure it out.

Also says if anyone says they have a 25-point program for solving the problem they are just a politician.

Says there will be cuts.

Every day that this fiasco goes on it sounds more to me like a Republican win by Schwarzenegger insures that 90% of the Democrat's agenda moves forward. A win by Bustamante guarantees 100% of the Democrat's agenda moves forward. Looks to me like a Win/Win situation for the Democrat party.

Is there a difference between not raising taxes and having no new taxes?

Sure can be. I for one would like to see revenue-neutral reform that actually RAISES (gasp!) property taxes(*) -- BUT only if there is a corresponding DECREASE in business-killing income taxes and sales taxes. The decrease has to be carved in stone -- a constitutional amendment, along with a Colorado-style spending cap -- or else it will just end up being rescinded, leaving us with ONLY a hike! (* - Reason: property taxes are much more stable than are sales and income taxes year to year. Prop 13 should be amended from allowing 2% annual increases in assessed valuations to "the percentage rate of inflation.")

True, but I bet if McClintock is asked will education be part of the cuts he will say no. All politicians would say no, or they will say something like waste fraud and abuse should be cut.

Yes, but education is a huge part of the budget, and a huge part of the problem.

Bustamante vs two or three Republicans = one coalition to elect Cruz

Arnold is running to feed his ego, and a liberal within the GOP, elected to a governorship of a large state, is more dangerous to conservatism than a liberal outside the GOP - because the liberal then can profess to speak for the GOP.

I don't know how emphatic the man can be about being against more taxes. "Californians are taxed from the time they get up and flush the toilet...." Classic stuff.

The McClintock people can feel the air whooshing out from beneath their guy. With his ad budget, Arnie's a go now.
