SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 20 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Retired General Wesley Clark will announce his plans to run for president by the end of the month, according to Democratic Party insider Donna Brazile.
In a luncheon speech to the Utah Democratic Party, Brazile said that General Clark would enter the campaign and that President Bush is vulnerable on domestic and foreign policy issues. Brazile ran Vice President Al Gore's 2000 campaign and remains active in Democratic political circles.
Indeed, General Clark acts more and more like a candidate each day, as he lashed out at the Republican administration during a media tour that has included interviews with media outlets ranging from network morning shows to syndicated radio shows.
"It's pretty clear that General Clark has begun articulating his message and telling voters his views on a number of issues,'' said Michael K. Frisby, the media strategist for the Draft Clark 2004 Committee. Frisby said the General will be a formidable candidate.
"None of the other Democratic candidates have raised enough money to scare General Clark away,'' said Frisby, a former political reporter and White House Correspondent for the Wall Street Journal. "When General Clark enters the race, he will do something that the other candidates have failed to do: make the case for why the country would be better off with President Bush back in Texas on his ranch."
Don McCorkell, an organizer with the Draft Clark 2004 Committee, said that thousands of Clark supporters have been meeting regularly around the country, building an organization that will become the foundation for the Clark presidential campaign.
"The Clark Brigade is a wave of Clark supporters who are ready to do whatever it takes to get the General elected President of the United States," McCorkell said. "Once he gives the order, our team is ready to canvas the streets in New Hampshire and bang on doors in Iowa to help people understand that General Clark is about substance over style, a man of integrity who will earn the respect of all Americans."

I thought that 40 years ago when the Brothers Kennedy vacillated over the Cuber situation. I believe today that a majority of Americans that count believe that there has been quite enough crap over the dam and what this nation needs is an enema that begins with the soopreme kort and with our corrupt congressrats.
I can't help but notice how these congressrats go to DC then take up permanent residence there. I have said many times that the house members should be elected by the people for no more than two 2-year terms. The Senators should be selected by their respective state legislatures for one 4-year term. The president, on the other hand, can be elected to two 6-year tersm.
The military needs to be regressed about 50 years when service really meant something. An oath was an oath.
You may be right, but I prefer someone with successful, rather than substantial, experience.
I admit my attitude towards him is tarnished due to the Clinton connection, but he has not impressed me the few times I've seen him on TV. He has a distinct aversion to direct answers.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I've noticed that too. Perhaps he IS ready to run on the Dimocrat ticket!
His transformation to the Dark Side is complete.
Wesley represents the absolute worst of all worlds. A hot-headed idiot willing to risk WWIII in a war started and run by liberal pinheads - combined with the socialist policies of a Clintonite. Anybody on the Left claiming to see Wesley as a leader needs to examine his performance at NATO, where if he had had his way - British paratroopers would have stormed Pristina airport to drive the Russian troops out of there, after Russia had played a crucial role in ending NATO's war against Yugoslavia.
Fortunately, the commanding British General retorted, "I will not start WWIII for you." Kudos to the Brit General for bitch-slapping this perfumed princess back to his management cubicle.
The current dim party is so split over issues, who is running the party, there is NO UNITY to split. The entire dim party is on of the biggest joke of the last 20 years. This truly deserves a "Super Barf Alert".
As with many ex-military members, he has an exalted sense of how his 'skills' will be viewed by civilians. As I found out personally, my leadership training and staff development skills weren't nearly in the demand that I had expected, or hoped for.
Additionally, for the remaining five years of his career, Clark was surrounded by his own coterie of yes men, who responded to his beck and call.
The dude's in his own alternative reality.
Well, he almost got us into a war with Russia on two separate occasions during the Kosovo conflict, and on the second occasion war was only averted by a British general disobeying Clark's order to attack Russian paratroopers who had landed at Pristina airport. So if you want WWIII started, Clark's your man. Otherwise, run away...
You guys are getting way too deep for me...I'll always think of Hillary! as...
Crusty
You really can't be serious that the lunatic fringe now known as the Democrat primary voter is going to vote for a former general hailing from Arkansas?
If you're right, I'd better go get some meds...please tell me you're joking.
