Of course it assumes voters are resigned to Large Breasts' $ 8 billion tax increase proposal. If he does get elected on his Walter Mondull platform California deserves to slide off into the Pacific Ocean. The rest of the country never need look back.

If democrats win California again then it's time to throw in the towel and give it to Mexico. It's toast.

If he (Bustamente) does get elected on his Walter Mondull platform California deserves to slide off into the Pacific Ocean.Hypothetical question: Could the Republicans immediately go for yet another recall if that happened?

Hillary Rodham Clinton attacks Bush
and the California Recall is being hijacked.
Then comes the blackout. How timely.
A little distraction, while the wheels
keep turning...
California is about to give MILLIONS
of illegial immigrants drivers licenses.
And register them to vote.
Is California a joke?
It won't be funny, when the population
of California selects the next president of the
the United States.
MILLIONS of illegals, who will then be led by the hand
to vote Democrat when they register for their Drivers Licenses.
And then, add to that, a computer touch-screen
system that is vulnerable to fraud and hacking.
Hillary and Her Friends are practicing
the Art of Making the Impossible
Possible, and this time it's going to make
her the President of the United States.

Who says Arnold S's strategy of not talking to reporters and not announcing policy positions isn't paying off? There is something to be said for this strategy. They can't nail you for something you didn't say. They can't twist words that didn't come out of your mouth. Mums the word. If you can't keep mum keep it vague. If you must move from vaguery, keep it in the most general sense possible. If pressed for specifics, have your secretary remind you of a pressing engagement or just do the "Sorry, I'm out of time. It's been great to be here with you, but I really have to run- campaigning is hard work! I love you folks..."

Nope. Not for at least six months. I think its better to let Large Breasts and the Democrats hang themselves with their own rope.

I think its better to let Large Breasts and the Democrats hang themselves with their own rope. I have thought the same thing. With Bustamante, the Dems are saying "give us just one more chance". If he wins, and the state doesn't turn around, they could be in the wilderness (as far as the gov's office goes) for years.

So let me get this straight. "Large Breasts" is the Lieutenant Governor but he has nothing to do with what the Doofus has done. They don't talk or consult each other? He's not only lying (he is a RAT after all), but he's also stupid.
To: anoldafvet
I'm not familiar with the Lt. Gov role in California, but in many states it's a bucket of warm spit. I'm not defending Bustamante at all, but I really don't know how much input he's had on the California debacle.

If [bustamante] wins, and the state doesn't turn around, [dems] could be in the wilderness (as far as the gov's office goes) for years.I disagree. Not with the cultivated Nanny-state mentality of the electorate out there.
Say an 8-yr old's mommy is wrong about something, does the 8-yr old sack his mommy? No. He cries and pouts. He does nothing to make the situation better (he can't) and just waits for Mommy [Dems] to fix it.
Sadly, that's the metaphor that makes sense to me for Kalifornia.

What would be the point? If Bustamente were to win and go as far overboard as a lot of freepers fear, would it be possible to get rid of him in a recall? Otherwise, he would have a free ticket to just hand California to all of the nutcases who want it to be part of Mexico or whatever.

First, Davis was re-elected after he PROVED that he was absolutely incapable of running the state.
If the people of California are so stupid as to select Bustemonte after he has already revealed that he is a political clone of Davis, what makes you think that giving them a THIRD chance in as many years to correct a wrong will do any good?

Weird selection process! Seems to me that if you vote to retain Gray Davis, you shouldn't be allowed a selection (Bustamante) in the second part of the ballot question.
That is like being allowed to vote for Ralph Nader, but have your vote switched to Al Gore if it looks like Gore will be defeated by (gasp) a Republican. Where's the fairness in that?

I heard one of Davis' campaign ads yesterday; according to him, this recall thing is all about Republicans "stealing elections". Straight out of Clinton's mouth to Davis' ear! Never let the voters (especially minorities)forget about Florida and how that election was "stolen" nor how the California governor's election is being "stolen" also.

Making California part of Mexico will mean that no Mexican will want to live there; they'll immigrate elsewhere. Maybe this is the solution to illegal immigration.
