Any word if this place houses weapons inspectors such as David Kay?

You almost want to wish that Scott Ritter was "on scene".I know that BK Boy will emerge from the bowels of hell to give us his take on the situation & some network will give him air time.

Agreed- or US/UN haters who came to Iraq to fight us. I'm thinking a combo of Palestinians, AQ, Jordanians, Syrians and Iranians, with backing from a more organized group.

You just don't understand, all borders must be wide open world wide. If you close one border it makes a good reasonable case for closing other borders, can't have that.My favorite Tommy Franks quote.
TONY SNOW: Do you believe the Syrian government could have prevented their coming into Iraq? TOMMY FRANKS: Oh, gosh. I mean, I could give you some -- I could give you an opinion, but if I did, it would be the opinion of a soldier rather than, you know, a policy opinion. TOMMY FRANKS: I would say this: I believe that any nation that wants to control its borders can do so. |

I would disagree (but only slightly)
Mecca and Medina, and Qom absolutely.
But I would add...
The Royal Palaces in Riyadh, the Revolutionary Council of Tehran, the Baathist in Damascus, and the murderer in Ramallah... and the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt...
Lot's of heads on this snake. Cut them all off... don't let one survive.

I've wondered if the breakup of AQ and the turmoil in Iraq would result in a new organization that incorporated a broader group of agitators. This could be them.

CNN: Kenneth Pollack being interviewed. He wrote the excellent book The Threatening Storm and is former CIA and advises Joint Chiefs of Staff and has excellent credentials.
Saying that Iraqis had inflated expectations. They think America is all powerful and we'd be able to walk into Iraq and flip on a switch and everything would work.
This attack could be an important element of what goes on in the future. The UN has said we're not going to surround ourselves with barbed wire like the Americans have. If the UN decides this was too big a hit for us and we're going to retreat back into bunkers the way the US has, it won't change policy in any way and the average Iraqi citizen won't think anything of that.

Excellent observation. They'd be united by their hatred of the US, not necessarily their religious beliefs.

This reminds me of the people who rioted and burned down their own neighborhood during the Rodney King ordeal. I say... as long as they're blowing up their own country ...... I can live with that.

I am misspelling his name in major way but it could be the work of Muniyega who engineered the Marine barracks bombing in Lebanon in 1983 and who is associated with Al Queda. Whoever/whatever clan or mafia did the bombing will get big backslaps and bragging rights in the "terrorist community". My theory is the UN means nothing to them. All they know and care is it's a bunch of foreigners operating there. So kill them for Allah. You're close on the name--and when I first saw the shots of the scene I thought of the Marine barracks and Khobar towers.

I'm thinking a combo of Palestinians, AQ, Jordanians, Syrians and Iranians, with backing from a more organized group.I wonder if that group is tied to the 400+ "guerillas" that crossed into Afghanistan from Pakistan, to raid the police station a few days ago. To me, that was a clear attack on the US, since we trained those police who were killed, and we set them up. They (the police killed) had our backing and died because of it.

They'd be united by their hatred of the US, not necessarily their religious beliefs. Exactly.
