CNN: Kenneth Pollack being interviewed. He wrote the excellent book The Threatening Storm and is former CIA and advises Joint Chiefs of Staff and has excellent credentials.
Saying that Iraqis had inflated expectations. They think America is all powerful and we'd be able to walk into Iraq and flip on a switch and everything would work.
This attack could be an important element of what goes on in the future. The UN has said we're not going to surround ourselves with barbed wire like the Americans have. If the UN decides this was too big a hit for us and we're going to retreat back into bunkers the way the US has, it won't change policy in any way and the average Iraqi citizen won't think anything of that.

I posted an excellent article by Ralph Peters yesterday called Ignorance. I'd link it, but I don't know how. I used the key words: Ralph Peters.
It is well worth the read and backs up what Kenneth Pollack is saying.

Why the big change of security from the UN?
