I fear the day is coming when God is just going to stop "Blessing America"...

UCLA and those two whiners whom UCLA represented and who no logner are at the school will surely sue to stop any silent prayer.

Think of the message this sends to our young people: voluntary, nonsectarian prayer is so offensive that courts actually order that it most be stopped.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibit the free exercise thereof...

Who and by what authority is prohibiting these mealtime prayers?

Lawyers, judges and the courts remind of that movie with Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves where Satan (Pacino) owns one of the largest law firms in NY. Through the judicial system, these many attorneys of Satan's law firm would be getting off every criminal under the heavens so that the stench would reach Jehovah. It appears that the movie isn't too far from reality.

If liberal Judges continue to rule-America soon won't have a prayer.

Any prayer that cadets offer must be silent "so they don't impose what they are doing on whoever is next to them," Citadel President Maj. Gen. John Grinalds said Friday.

Welcome to Amerika comrade where freedom of speech has been replaced by freedom not to be offended.

Correction: I meant to type ACLU, having just spilled a cup of tea.

Incidentally, as to those two cadets who initially sue: according to a January report, Neil Mellen was serving in the Peace Corps in Micronesia and now Lt. Paul Knick was serving at an Air Force base in Louisiana.

The court ruling is irrelevant. They should just pray anyway. What the hell is the court going to do about it?

**

Exactly. They students themselves should pray, if they want to, as tablemates.

The Citidel is a private school. Why don't they just have the courage of Hillsdale, or BJU or a number of other schools who have kissed federal funding good bye and recapture the school's mission???

sigh

You'd think I'd at least be in my eighties before stuff like this happens. I can remember when my second grade teacher had us say the Lord's prayer and she always read a verse from the Old Testament before starting class. She was ordered to stop, and retired immediately after. People in my country can't even pray anymore...

When you are a Plebe/Beast/Rat you quickly realize that you need all the help that you can get -- even if you weren't particularly religious when you went in. Outsiders just won't understand this dynamic.
