I graduated from The Citadel in 1977. I was in "Golf Co.", and we were the hardest of the hard.

My roomate, Mike Ritz, was killed in Grenada. I contributed for years.

My contrabutions ended when my "alma mater" admitted women, stopped playing, "Dixie", and waving the Confederate Battle flag. We should have closed the doors, when the uS said we should become co-ed.

I went back for my 25th reunion, last november, and my school was dead. Let's kill it. Let us remember the time when men were men. Close the Sallyports, lock the gates, until such time as Dixie is free and independant. I would rather close my alma mater, than see it perverted in the name of political correctness.

The Citadel defeated two battalions of yankee Marines, and two battalions of Naval Infantry, in addition to several Regemants of yankee infantry at Pocotaligo River.

I would dissolve my "alma mater", rather than have it polluted with the lies.

My School fought for Southern Independence.

The Citadel never surrendered its Colours. As a graduate, I would rather terminate the Institution, to avoid compromising its principles. Honestly, I would prefer that my alma mater, remove all vestiges of the flag of the united States, and display on the flag of it's country, South Carolina, and the Confederate States of America.

I would prefer the time of my youth, when Citadel Cadets flew only the Battle flag of their fathers, the Confederate Battle Flag, and the time when Band Company played, "Dixie", every time Citadel made a touch down.

And, I miss the time, when even knobs, had a moment of peace, when we said grace.

As a Citadel graduate, I am ashamed, that my alma mater surrendered on prayer, as quickly as they surrendered on the Confederate flag. It says to me,that the administration is no longer worthy of the Corps of Cadets.

For the Corps,

L.A. Salley
