Hillary Blames Bush for Blackout

Just hours after the Northeastern power grid went down shutting off electricity for 50 million Americans, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton took to the airwaves to blame President Bush and his administration's energy policies for pushing deregulation and coddling corrupt power companies like Enron.

"I happen to think that making sure we have a reliable, affordable system of energy is a national priority - and I don't think that this administration sees it that way," Clinton told CNN's "Larry King Live."

"They have continued to try to push deregulation and privatization, and to try to undo a lot of the systems in changes that many of us thought were important and necessary that we tried to work on during the Clinton administration under [Former Energy] Secretary [Bill] Richardson's leadership."

Sen. Clinton also accused the White House of throwing "a lot of roadblocks in the way of [Calif. Gov. Gray] Davis, when he tried to clean up some of the problems that he had with the manipulation of the energy markets by Enron and others."

"So, no," she insisted, "I don't think the federal administration under this president is really focused on making sure we don't have these problems in the future."

Before Clinton phoned in her comments to the King Show, however, Gov. Richardson, now governor of New Mexico, noted that her husband had done little to address the problem during his eight years in office.

"In the Clinton administration, everybody yawned about this, [saying] oh, we don't need to do this. Oh, we don't have a crisis," he told King.

Hmmm. This makes me think that the East Coast
blackout may be politically-advantageous for the
Democrats!

Even Gray Davis, soon-to-be-recalled Governor
of California was just on Larry King Live and
going on-and-on with the flair of an Electricity-expert.

So...my mind had this "flash"...

What if Davis and Hillary can put some doubt in the
California-voters' minds, and make us THINK that, due to the East Coast Blackout, that California power problems were nothing but problems being faced by the whole nation!

This little diversion-of-the-truth, would let Gray Davis wiggle out of the Recall-Attack and even help him persuade voters to say NO to the recall!

We know who would benefit from Davis staying.

Hot story!! I didn't read Carl Limbacher's report
until after I posted above, as I just heard about
Gray Davis' appearance on Larry King Live via the
radio show, The John and Ken Show on KFI Radio.

So it is true.

Hillary Rodham Clinton isn't leaving anything to chance,
she is making sure that Davis is cleared by this
current blackout event, and even went so far as
to call in to Larry King as a guest, to make sure
her "perspective" on the blackout included
a Davis-Bail-Out.

SUMMARY: The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Commission) proposes a new pricing policy for the rates of transmission owners that transfer operational control of their transmission facilities to a Regional Transmission Organization (RTO), form independent transmission companies (ITCs) within RTOs, or pursue additional measures that promote efficient operation and expansion of the transmission grid. The proposed policy would create rate incentives that reward RTO and ITC formation and grid investment, because independent regional grid operation and coordination will improve grid performance, reduce wholesale transmission and transactions costs, improve electric reliability, and make electric wholesale competition more effective in ways that benefit all customers. We invite comments on the proposed policy statement.
