"Slowly I turn"...that's from an Abbott and Costello movie. A&C meet Frankenstein? or A&C meet the Wolfman?

Nope, it was someone related to the energy industry. At least he said that market forces should help out this situation.

WHAT ABOUT THE OTTAWA LOOTING!?!!?!?Haven't seen any coverage of that....

just think of all the computers like ours that weren't sucking up power even a decade ago! :)Bill Richardson actually made a comment about all the computers people are using nowadays - suggesting that this contributed to the blackout.
I'm waiting to hear from Al (automobiles are a menace to society) Gore.

Allentown I think it ok .. only a few counties in upper PA were hit
From Channel 10 News ..
PENNSYLVANIA The northwestern corner of the state was without power. Power went out to much or all of Erie, Forest and Venango counties, according to emergency management officials.

CNBC and now MSNBC are interviewing some Canuks right now. The guy on MSNBC is stressing that this isn't terrorism, just a glich in the system. Is that suppossed to make us feel any better? That if someone wanted to do more damage it could be worse?

. I wonder what would have been the next grid station in line had the one at VF failed. Is there a redundant backup? Good question but I don't know the answer

FOX stating Penn station crowds have been standing without food or water or bathrooms for almost 7 hours. I'd be angry to. Why the heck are there not a constant stream of buses running out of the PATH terminal? They are not electric, sure the roads are packed, but run bus shuttles to NJ and Jaimaca(major rail transfer station in Long Island). The trains may have trouble running out of Penn Station because the long tunnels require electric trains and prohibit diesels, but east of Sunnyside and Jaimaca they can use diesels to pull the trains. Setup generators at a few key fueling stations to keep the shuttles running. Don't they have a contingency plan for such an evacuation?

Sub-launched missiles, land-based missiles, and bombers carrying nuclear weapons.
