Hannity station went dead for about 20 seconds. Said he had never seen anything like it.

The implication is that Bush's buds the energy companies are running a slip-shod ship and making their ill-gotten gains and then it all goes poof one day when she's been trying to pass legislation for two years to prevent something likes this happening.See?
Man, what a stretch. What was her legislation about? Making human error or lightning illegal? Or maybe she will find out that environmental laws made updating and rennovation too costly.

Those people are nuts over on DU so their behavior tonight is pretty typical! I'm sure President Bush wasn't happy to see his big terrorist catch wiped off the TV screens but then DUer's wouldn't think that far. And hillary can kiss my butt! She is one evil witch. I'm sick of her blaming President Bush for every single thing that happens. The media eats it up. It's going to be a very tough election! Time for Republicans to unite!

That helps. The bit I missed before was how they perform the skit early in the film, and then find themselves in that circumstance later on. Now I do get it.
I guess I'd like to see it to be sure.

I'm finding the combination of immediately saying it's not terrorism and hours later saying they have no idea what caused it particularly weird... I tend to agree, and it was actually broadcasted within 30 minutes that it was not terrorism. Looking back, that was glaring misinformation.

I love it - now Cretien is claiming that this all started because of the failure of a nuclear plant in Pennsylvania.
There's yet another moron cut from the Bloomberg cloth that needs to shut the hell up.

LOL .. I'll bet they are wondering what they are
I grew up in Philly and there is a HUGE difference between city and country skies

Had an uncle who told me on a trip to Niagra Falls that they turn them off at night......Was in my late twenties before I realized he was telling another on of his tall tales.
Seems to me if all the lights went off at once, someone should be able to turn them all back on at once.

This is the biggest outage in US history though.Of course ---but even just 100 years or 50 years ago, we weren't so utterly dependent on electricity. The lights went out often enough in the past --- no big deal. They go out in many areas of the country and it's not even news. My power can be out over one driver knocking down one telephone pole.

I love it - now Cretien is claiming that this all started because of the failure of a nuclear plant in Pennsylvania.I have the true cause of the blackout, and it DOES originate in Pennsylvania.
At about four o'clock today, I was reinstalling my toupee when my hot glue gun shorted out and, well, you know the rest.

WNYW is back up on DirecTV (Only NY affilite I've got now), and they're saying that tomorrow should be "treated like a snow day."

Olympia. It was quite a storm, took out telephone polls as well as trees. Most of western Washington had the power out for a few days -- but it was patchy, the power came on in parts of our town 2 or 3 days before other parts.

Ashleigh Banfield talking about some panic that occurred on a subway. Too many announcements made that the train would move soon and it never did. No other details.
She also had to mention the guns the police are carrying in NY. (like they wouldn't be carrying guns--duh) Probably thinks they should carry squirt guns.

No really...the shelves in the paper aisles are bare...and even at its worst, during blizzards, we have never been w/o power or the ability to get to a road for more than 24 hours...and the White Cloud on hand is usually more than sufficient!

Power just came back on in Penfield (Rochester) NY.

I'm in CA and there was a relatively short failure of the Western power grid a few years ago...seems like they were able to tell us in relatively short order what the problem was. Hmmmm. With all the information they use to balance the power and so on, they have nothing concrete to talk about other than mythical lightning strikes?
To: Chad Fairbanks
Yeah...it always happens in the winter. Winter is worse than summer (yeah, yeah, I know all about A/C back east, but in the winter every damn thing is cold and clammy...including the showers).
