Good morning Billie etal. Terrific post. We cannot criticize California. We, in our wisdom, elected Eddie (Philadelphia Fats) Rendell to govern us.

Excellent screed, (((((((JH2))))))). The opening graphic ((((((Billie)))))) of some of the major "playas" is priceless. It fully lends itself to the "circus atmosphere" that John so aptly describes.
I get ***tired*** reading all of that. John, how do you keep your blood pressure from boiling over? With all of the *good* material that's out there, I'm afraid I'd give myself a stroke tackling it with the gusto that you do day after day.
Thanks and (((((HUGS)))) to you both for bringing us such a wonderful dose of JH2's vitriol! :-)

Below are names of some of our FReepers' loved ones who are serving our country. If you have someone you would like to add, please address a post to Billie; Mama_Bear; Dansangel; Dutchess; Aquamarine and we will add their name to this list. As we pray for them, we pray also for all our nations leaders, and military personnel, and their families and friends. May God hold them close to His heart.

We ask Lord, that You guide the leaders of our great country in their hour of decision. The burden that has been placed on their shoulders is overwhelming. We ask that with Your infinite wisdom You guide them gently to the right decisions.
Please give us the strength, Lord, to get through each difficult and devastating day that faces each of us and our country. Protect and guide our Military that are now being called to duty, strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Reality, take a deep breath and read this...an old one making the rounds again.
TEACHING MATH OVER THE YEARS
Teaching Math in 1950: A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price. What is his profit?
Teaching Math in 1960: A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price, or $80. What is his profit?
Teaching Math in 1970: A logger exchanges a set "L" of lumber for a set "M" of money. The cardinality of set "M" is 100. Each element is worth one dollar. Make 100 dots representing the elements of the set "M." The set "C," the cost of production contains 20 fewer points than set "M." Represent the set "C" as subset of set "M" and answer the following question: What is the cardinality of the set "P" of profits?
Teaching Math in 1980: A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is $80 and his profit is $20. Your assignment: Underline the number 20.
Teaching Math in 1990: By cutting down beautiful forest trees, the logger makes $20. What do you think of this way of making a living? Topic for class participation after answering the question: How did the forest birds and squirrels "feel" as the logger cut down the trees? There are no wrong answers.
Teaching Math in 2000: A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is $120. How does Arthur Andersen determine that his profit margin is $60?
Teaching Math in 2010: El hachero vende un camion carga por $100. La cuesta de production es........

'Dear John' Letter # 1,000:
Thousand replies - thousand thoughts - thousand laffs at the expense of the Dems!
Keep 'em flowin' JH - - -
Do they really think Gray-Light Gov. Bustamove can hold a candle to Ahnold's popularity? Gonna put him in an Orkin Exterminator suit and think he can prevail?
Holy mackeral, looking at yer collage, Billie - what a fine kettle of phish!!
Talk about one crowded phish tank - - -
Struck today, I am, by the hopelessness that has to be building among them.
I mean, how many more things can go so darned right??!!
Keep us herded in the right direction, JH.....
