Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)
Myself | 8-11-03 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 08/11/2003 12:57:30 PM PDT by Brad’s Gramma

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Fellow Freepers…….I bring you Logan!!!

BG, the other day my little garbage-fisher Oliver (16 mos) had fished an empty beer bottle out of the kitchen trash when my back was turned. I turned back around and he was sitting on the floor, leaning back against the cabinet, appearing to be draining a beer! I had quite the shock!

But what can I expect when he sees those photos of his TX buddy Logan at Hooters?? Peer pressure!

Logan was feeling much better today than he has been for several days.
He still had some upchucking episodes and....uh, those out the other end, but he was better.
He has always been a happy baby. Nothing gets him down.
Logan believes that when the wind no longer fills your sails, you get out the oars and row!
He does have that spark of Godliness, and it shows in his contact with everyone he meets.

Nana was well enough to come in today, but she's still not 100% either.
She's still very weak.

I thank God that He made it possible to have our gathering today, and I thank God for friends like these.

Jim, please be careful on your trip up through New Mexico.

D., I just caught your post before I shut it down.

I'm so sorry for you.
I can imagine the pain of caring for these little ones, and watching them slowly get better, then having to part with them.
It takes a lot of strength, and, I'll admit, I don't think I could do it.

God bless you for what you do.

Wonderful pics from Texas! It's been wonderful seeing all the people who've gotten the opportunity to meet Jim and Sheila during this trip.

Love the shots of Jim and that adorable Termite together. Looks like they hit it off reeeeeeal well!
Gosh, how that lil feller is growin'!! Sorry to hear he's been sick but you'd never know it from these pics. That's got to be the happiest baby I know of and so full of life.

Thanks for sharing this afternoon get-together with us, TC. Looks like a great time was had by all.

I am so jealous.

And that child's toes should not be naked. Auntie Bev has tried to do her part, but it doesn't look like anyone else cares!! (Seriously, I don't believe in shoes and socks any time you can get away with it, either.)
