Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)
Myself | 8-11-03 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 08/11/2003 12:57:30 PM PDT by Brad’s Gramma

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Fellow Freepers…….I bring you Logan!!!

thanks for the info, even though anything but cheerful. Still, it's good to know what your're praying for.

God bless Logan, and please reveal to medical team the exact nature of his infection.

I'm believing tht Logan is now on the mend, improving every minute, overcoming evey condition and infection no matter what it may be. It's nothing in God's world of perfect health and perfect love.

He's as mad as hell and he's not going to take it anymore. Them's fightin' words. This little guy sure is feisty.
It's a good sign that he's in another room. As soon as they get that infection under control, he'll be raring to go.
I hope his Cystic Fibrosis test is negative. We will all be
sending our love and wishing him the best.
More hugs and kisses from Auntie Stanz and Noelle.

That is pretty bad.
Good to hear he had an O.K. night and was yelling to go home, that's a good sign.
However, explaining to him that he has to stay there awhile longer will be difficult, admittedly.

I myself spent time in the body and fender shop prior to turning 5.
We lived in Flushing Queens at the time, and I was in the body and fender shop four times.
I prolly should leave the exact details to those who are old enough to recall the exact details.

Mom, Ping to prayer thread.
Logan is in the R&R loop due to severe pneumonia.

Go, Logan, go ahead and fight! We need you fighting, baby! We need you alive! We just plain need you. Praying just about every hour for you, little friend. Can't wait til you ARE home with Thomas the Tank Engine and Mommy and Daddy!

BG, Nana is right. If it weren't for you I would never have known about Logan and so many others for whom I've been able to pray. Thanks for your dedication and your generous heart and spirit. And great sense of humor! THAT never hurts!

Thank you for the Update, Dear Grammie, and Thank God Logan is Yelling, because it is a Sign that he is Strong. I Pray his Test is Negative, through the Grace of our Loving Lord. Thank You, our Merciful King, for Your Care of Your Precious Child. Increase his Strength More and More, our Savior, Granting Full Restoration of Health. May his Test Show that he has No CF, through Your Awesome Grace. Touch this Child, Your Excellency, with the Power of our Shepherd of Love. O Gracious and Compassionate Lord, be Glorified in Your Mercies Toward Your Child. Thank you for All You Plan to Do, and Thank You for this Precious Little Boy. We Love, Praise, Honor and Exalt You, as we Pray in His Highness' Name, amen.

I am glad you left that "part" in...you DO deserve any praise for all that you do for we freepers, especially when we are in need.

Prayers continue for Logan..and I think I agree with Nana...I think his moving around and screaming is very theraputic at this point...I would be more worried if he just laid there lethargic.

Keep it up LOGAN...you are my hero, buddy. You have had to fight harder in your young life than I ever have.

Texas sized prayers up

Is Logan being isolated? My memory, such as it is, is that my son had RSV and was put into a private room, away from other patients as it tends to move rapidly among young children. Also, given Logan's past medical history, he's more likely to catch infections, so isolation would keep him away from the germ fest that is a hospital, especially a peds unit.

God bless this little guy. It'd be nice to see him 'catch a break' but his day WILL come! No one would ever suspect looking at my strapping 22 y/o that he spent about half his young life in the hospital with one thing after the other. I pray the same for Logan.
