If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious and this is her reply A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen
Fellow Freepers .I bring you Logan!!!
Thanks for the update. Prayers continue for Logan and family.
Thank God for Logan's progress and my prayers are continuing.
Thank you for the update. I will continue to pray for this little guy.
Re: Gram negative infection. I am not a medical person, but here is what I know about it. The Gram staining test separates bacteria into 2 groups based on their cell-wall make-up. Doing so identifies the particular bacterium that is causing an infection and this allows the doctor to prescribe the antibiotic that is appropriate for treatment purposes. Gram negative, abbreviated G(-), bacteria are among the species that cause some nasty infections. To use a commonly known example, Salmonella causes some big problems.
thnaks for the ping Gramma, this part of OC is praying hard
Prayers on the way!
Prayers going up in little Logan's behalf.
Jesus said of the little babies and children HE held on His lap and took up in His arms--" ....of such is The Kingdom of Heaven."
That includes your precious baby, Logan, too.
Thanks for the update. Prayers from us in Wisconsin.
Just got a call from Beth. Logan had an "OK" night. They did move him to another room, so I'm taking that as a good sign. He's mad, fighting mad! She said he screamed for about 2 hours, "I wanna go home" and would not hush! Poor little one. He's sick and he's exhausted and doesn't understand that those breathing treatments every 2 hours are what is going to make him better. All he knows is that at home he has his big bed, pillow and Thomas the Train videos! But one thing about the screaming and crying ... they were able to suction him real good! So maybe it's nature's way of helping him. And....if he weren't the fighter and stubborn little one that he is, I don't think he would have made it in the beginning. So fight on baby boy! Nana is so proud of you :)
He will definitely be in there at least through Monday.... so IF he's off of oxygen, they are going to do the Cystic Fibrosis test on him that morning.
I'm not going up until later this evening and will send an email when I get home tonight.
Many thanks for the prayers, the well wishes and the love sent to him and to all of us. Boy! I never cease to be amazed at how many long distance relatives Logan has!!! He's one lucky little boy to be loved by so many "aunti's and uncles" on FR.
And of course to you my dear friend.... if it were not for you.... Logan wouldn't be receiving all of this love and heartfelt prayers. We will be forever grateful to you Nanc. (and if you post this... don't you DARE take this part out!!)
God bless....
Nana
BG Note. I'm afraid of Nana (and have a bridge for sale) (ha!) so I DID leave that in, although it's all of YOU AND GOD who I personally thank!!! And I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO dead for writing THIS!
*waving* Hi Nana! :)
Thanks for the Logan update. Prayers up.
Continued prayers for Logan and Beth too!
Thank you for the update.
I was out of town and watching the thread on my brothers computer.
As an old Nurse I have to say that I love angry children. If they are well enough to throw a fit they are on the road to recovery.
More prayers for little Logan. Thank you for keeping us updated! It is a great sign and comfort that he has the will to fight in the way you desribed.
Bless his heart. Continuing to pray.
Thanks for the update.
Thank you for the update. I am thankful for the good progress news. Continued thoughts and prayers.
BTTT
Continued prayers in Jesus' Name for healing for little Logan, and for patience and understanding of the process, despite his young years. I also pray for sustaining grace for his family and all those caring for him.
He's a fighter .. that's a good sign indeed
Sending more prayers
