Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)
Myself | 8-11-03 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 08/11/2003 12:57:30 PM PDT by Brad’s Gramma

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Fellow Freepers…….I bring you Logan!!!

What are Logan's symptoms? I so hope and pray he is OK. We are still in love with him here.

His friend Oliver is still tiny and still has allergies but BOY is he finally talking! He's 3.5 and has finally entered the Terrible Twos, a little late. Want him for a day? LOL. We are all waiting for this whiny negative phase to PASS ALREADY! (In between we do get some nice "I 'ove you Mama" kind of stuff though to keep us going!)

Baby prayers up!

(Keep the Faith, my friends! We are the saviors of the Republic! Now and Forever!)

Emily is now one month old today and fighting everyday. She is now at 1lb 15 oz. But, everyday before she leaves, she touches her hand and prays with her.

We know God can heal and we are asking for a miracle.

It is so good to talk with someone who has experienced a miracle ---- It increases our faith. I pray God will send someone to encourage my niece - Kim.

This is an awesome testimony. Thank you. I am praying for Emily, and for Kim's niece. O Lord, Our Comfort, send Jesus with skin on to this mother who has lost a child and is so heartbroken and separated from her little girl Emily. Thank you for her name: its meaning is "industrious, striving." May she be strong, and live, amen.

And with you, BG, I pray that Logan will be found to not have Cystic Fibrosis, that the tests on the 21st will show forth the power of God in this little boy as from the beginning, amen.

"What are Logan's symptoms? I so hope and pray he is OK. We are still in love with him here."

Hi Yalle.....

First I'll answer your question about symptoms.

Logan has lung problems as you know. Being born at 25-26 weeks, they were and still are "icky" to say the least.

About 3 months ago, he started having terrible constipation issues. Along with that, he had 3 or 4 episodes of rectal prolapse. That was the "kicker" that sent the doctors over to the Cystic Fibrosis suspicion. Before this, no one including the pulmo doctor who has treated him from day one, ever mentioned this. CF children are "salty" when you lick them. We have licked this child like a lollipop! He's not salty to us. But only the sweat test will determine yes or no for sure. The Termite has beat all the odds so far. God willing, he will again.

And Oliver!! Logan has allergies too. Let the weather change and he's coughing and his little eyes look like he's been in a fight! And temper!! Wowie!! He has "melt downs" of temper :( Logan's little also Oliver. You boys have a lot in common. He still only weighs 25 pounds, but he is getting taller. Be nice to your Mommy Oliver...she's the best friend you'll ever have in all your life.

It's so nice to hear from so many old friends. God has blessed Logan so.... and at the top of the blessings are his many friends and family her at FR.

Our love....

Nana
