Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)
Myself | 8-11-03 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 08/11/2003 12:57:30 PM PDT by Brad’s Gramma

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Fellow Freepers…….I bring you Logan!!!

Looks like I messed up!!!

I show that TC's birthday was the 7th. I wished him a Happy Birthday on the Poetry Thread on that day. No wonder he didn't come by. :)

Happy birthday again, TC. Hope it is/was terrific!!!

Naaaaa......you didn't mess up. I think. He was on the rig, last I heard, and this was his first time in to see Logan.

I, of course, could have that all goofed up too! Ha!

If, as one of the posts below says, the 7th is TC's birthday, then my brand new *Great-nephew* and TC share the same bithday.

Preston was born to my sister's daughter and her husband Thursday night at 37 weeks, 7 lbs 1 oz., and 19 1/2 inches. Mom, baby, Dad, and Grandma are all doing well, as are the proud Great Grandparents. He's beautiful and Aunty Bev is in love with him.

He's an especially needed miracle, since he's giving my mother a boost - and a reason to get out of the house - other than for doctor's appointments - for the first time since mid-August when she had the pneumonia. This non-smoking, formerly optimistic, used to run 3 miles a day, lady just never got better after the pneumonia and couldn't even scoot across the couch or stand or sit up without help last Thursday when my sister called. We have very slowly discovered that Moma has myasthenia gravis, most likely due to the substernal mass we found on CAT scan. She has a one in million type of tumor that is often very aggressive, but in her case is still encapsulated.

The good news is we were able to start her on medicine for the myasthenia over the weekend and she is much stronger and doesn't need to sleep all day, everyday. Some time next month Moma will have to have that mass removed.

Please pray for my Moma and Daddy and ping your prayer lists. I believe in miracles (most of these cancers are metastasized when found and Moma's isn't by the PET scan she had last week) and it's a wonder that she responded as well as she did to the Myasthenia medicine.

THANK Y'ALL FOR THE HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES!

I just got in, and, needless to say, I didn't know this had been posted!
I try to forget about these darn birthdays, but it seems like they come around every couple of months.
It IS better than the alternative!

That pic of Logan in the boots took some doing!
He did NOT like his feet in those boots!
Nana had to be fast on the camera button!

It's been months since I saw the little varmint, and, on the way down, I was hoping he'd be as much fun as a little boy as he was as a baby.
Actually, he was more fun! This little guy is the happiest little boy I've ever seen.
The whole world is his oyster.
He is truly a blessing to all of us.

THANK YOU, JIM AND BF!

Yes, BG, I'm going to bed!

Can you come down and tuck me in, mommy?

On second thought, don't walk under the porch light.
Those guys might NOT be vacuum cleaner salesmen!

They keep trying to sell me Dust Busters. Pots and pans. LAUNDRY soap. What, do I look like the kind of woman who wants to CLEAN???
