ACLU & LIBERAL JUDGE EVICT BOY SCOUT CAMP
-- The Continuing Liberal Vendetta Against Scouts

What the judge ommitted to mention is that If there is "overwhelming and uncontradicted evidence" for the presence of God in the life of a Boy Scout, there is evidence of a similar nature for God's role in the public square on Main Street USA. After all, religious mottoes, preambles and texts were not an afterthought to the people who wrote them. "In God We Trust." "Endowed by their Creator." "One Nation Under God." These were important watchwords for the framers of the American constitution. And now the ACLU is working to get rid of those things too .....

Another victim of the long corrupted legal arm of the ACLU.

Actually the article says that the court condemmed the Scouts not evicted them. Have they since evicted them?

It sounds straightforward. If you're a private organization, you can exclude anyone you want -- blacks, jews, catholics, conservatives, gays, etc. But then you lose out on government funded perks.
Isn't it great? The Boy Scouts of America have a choice. And now they can start teaching their members the importance of living with the consequences.
God Bless America.

But then you lose out on government funded perks. IF you read the article, you would soon find out that the park was NOT Gov't funded. The park was developed, the swimming pool was donated, and the grounds keeping was done by the Boy Scouts over the past 90 years. Furthermore, the city has NOT been paying for the renovations or improvements, and (here's the clencher) .... EVERYONE gets to use it, not just the scouts. Lesbian and Gay Parades used it just recently.

Why not try another subtitle. Maybe "Boy Scouts Discover Choices Have Consequences"
The subtitle you've got makes the Boy Scouts out to be whinny and unable to accept personal responsibility for their choices. It's so liberal to blame one's choices on someone else. "I grew up poor." etc etc. Maybe if the Boy Scouts embrace these consequences they could take this as an opportunity and teach young boys about personal responsibility: "See, we're not legally entitled to these things because of the choices we've made and we're teaching you to be men. So suck it up and don't complain."
That would be an awesome story.
I know you didn't mean anything by it, but I didn't like how you made the Boy Scouts out to be all whinny and liberal. But next time, use your head. OK?

You don't count preferential treatment as a perk?
Me, when I go into a restaurant where I know the owner and she saves a seat for me, I so count that as a perk.

O'Reilly and Judge Napolitano were all over this last night ..pro Scouts and with no hope except long appeals as the judge cannot be punished in any way. The judge is contemptible.

"The judge is contemptible."
Why so?
To: ConsistentLibertarian
Wouldn't it be a wonderful idea if people donated land for the Boy Scouts to use so they wouldn't be harassed anymore! I also predict that when many of these Boy Scouts come of age, will fight against many of the injustices caused by the ilkes of the ACLU.

See, you've got the idea. Stay private, exclude whoever you want -- blacks, jews, catholics, conservatives, gays, etc -- and ask for private donations.
Get the word out and tell the Boy Scouts to stop whining about the hard time their having holding on to their public perks.
God Bless America!!

Because he made an assinine judgement..that the Boy Scouts is a religious organization. The Scouts ask their members to believe in a higher power..it can be nature..not a specific deity.

If you have sometimes wash dishes for free or help with cleanup at closing time, there's no reason you shouldn't have a seat saved for you, you've earned it. These Scouts, by way of their stewardship at this park have also earned it. The Boy Scouts have, in their nearly 100 years in this country, done much good for young men. Tell me, what good has the ACLU done for anybody? And no B.S. here, give us some specifics. The ACLU should have the tables turned on them and have a thorough investigation done on their organization, and let's find out what sort of rot exists in their dark corners.

This Klinton-appointed judge ought to be found in contempt of the Supreme Court, if such a finding is possible. This was clearly a vengeful ruling, in no way based on law. Probably hates Clarence Thomas, too.

No, I don't count preferential treatment as a perk ... especially when the Boy Scouts are doing all the work. If you build it, and maintain it, doesn't it make a little bit of sense that you would get first dibs on using it? And as the article elaborated, NO ONE is banned from using it, regardless of sex, gender, religion, sexual orientation, race, or the whole boxer/briefs issue.

Somebody help me w/the details (I'm on break at work, and don't have time to do web search) - but there was a Supreme Court case that sided w/the boyscouts on issues like this -
HALE vs. somebody......? This ruling can be reversed - it's not legal due to the higher court's (SUPREME COURT'S) ruling.

Let me give you an example of enforcement - legally, if a company tells one employee wearing a Christian t-shirt that he can't - that's ok IF-IF-IF they also enforce the same rule on other employees wearing t-shirts of other religions. It just has to be an equal enforcement, not singling out a certain religion. (I just read this in the "Christian and the Courts" Jay Sekulo book).
So, they can't oust the Boy Scouts from the park IF-IF-IF they're going to allow other people of other obvious religious beliefs.
And I think we should stress again that the Boy Scouts do not require Christianity for membership - the "higher power" applies, so many faiths can participate. Gee, sounds like the wording in our Constitution, Declaration of Independance, etc....

OCTOBER 13 1884 - POPE LEO XIII
Pope Leo XIII was just finishing Mass. As he turned to walk away from the
Tabernacle, he collapsed. Those present were afraid for his life, thinking he was
dead. When he came to, he shared what he had experienced in a vision. (This
event precursed by 33 years - to the day - the sun dancing in the heavens at Fatima.)
+
THE VISION
He heard noise in front of the Tabernacle . It was a confrontation between Jesus
and Satan. Satan told Jesus if given time and enough power, he would destroy
the Church. Jesus asked in return, 'How much time and how much power?'
Satan's reply was one century and more influence over those who would follow
him. The Holy Father said he heard Jesus say "So be it." And the 20th century
was given to Satan as a time of testing. The Holy Father was so shaken he began
to combat this vision with many things. 3 of which follow:
+
RESPONSE
He wrote
PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL
Original - Prayer to St. Michael
O Glorious Archangel St. Michael, Prince of the heavenly host, be our defense in the terrible
warfare which we carry on against principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of
darkness, spirits of evil. Come to the aid of man, whom God created immortal, made in His own
image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil.
Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the
leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor
was there place for them any longer in heaven. That cruel, that ancient serpent, who is called the
devil or Satan who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with his angels. Behold, this
primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage. Transformed into an angel of light, he
wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the
name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition souls destined
for the crown of eternal glory. This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom
of his malice on men of depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of
blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity, and of every vice and iniquity. These most crafty
enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the
immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place
itself, where has been set up the See of the most holy Peter and the Chair of Truth for the light of
the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that
when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.
Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of
God, and give them the victory. They venerate thee as their protector and patron; in thee holy
Church glories as her defense against the malicious power of hell; to thee has God entrusted the
souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may
put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity
and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly
conciliate the mercies of the Lord; and beating down the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the
devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the
nations. Amen.
Verse: Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers.
Response: The Lion of the tribe of Juda has conquered the root of David.
Verse: Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord.
Response: As we have hoped in Thee.
Verse: O Lord, hear my prayer.
Response: And let my cry come unto Thee.
Let us pray.
O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon Thy holy name, and as supplicants we
implore Thy clemency, that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin immaculate and our Mother,
and of the glorious Archangel St. Michael, Thou wouldst deign to help us against Satan and all
other unclean spirits, who wander about the world for the injury of the human race and the ruin of
souls. Amen.
Pope Leo XIII had a vision from God when he collapsed at the altar during Mass. He afterwards
wrote the following prayer which is in the Raccolta of May 1934.
