The only thing missing on Dead Man Walking Davis is his "Toe Tag".
Hey listen up.
I'm telling you people.
If that CSC does anything.. AN-NY-THING like allowing doofus on question 2, or pushing it to next March.. I'm telling you right now.
I don't know if I can say what I want to say.

"And No Arnold is not a bad thing. As Rush said "Think Bloomberg with muscles." The guy is a raving left winger on most matters. He doesnt even begin to approach what could remotely be called a conservative."
Rush was surprisingly anti-Arnold and hypocritical today. How many times has he lectured us (usually in relation to abortion) that it's better to win elections and not get everything we want in a candidate rather than stubbornly stick to a principle that's sure to result in a loss. Many times - MANY times over the years - yet he seems not to be taking his own advice in this case.
To me, half a conservative in office is better than none.

Source? Saw it on TV.....OK??? Hey, don't feel bad. On March 19th I started a post about a Bush news conference and I was an hour early, and I had 20+ posts calling me a liar and worse.
I believe you, I saw it on Fox News myself. I will stick with you until the bitter end, or until Davis speaks, which ever comes first.

They had a horrible Chief Justics of the Supreme Court when I lived there -- Rose Bird and she was recalled!
Californians will start petitions tomorrow to recall the Supreme Court! They have more initiatives out there than I have ever seen. One time the initiative book explaining the different issues on the ballot was an inch thick! I was always signing a petition for something outside Von's!

They are certainly that convoluted, perverse, insane, stupid and evil to try such a silly stunt . . . but probably some janitor along the way would alert them as to how absolutely asnine it would be and deter them.
Clearly I wouldn't put anything past this cabal . . .
no matter now insane, stupid or just plain dumb.

Let's see, on the ballot there will be:
1) A question on if the Governor should be recalled,
and 2) A question on who should be the new Governor if a recall is approved.
Now, anyone with a few grand and some signatures can run, except Governor Davis.
I wonder if the law would allow ex-Governor Davis to get on the ballot?
I know the law says the recall goes ahead if Davis resigns, with the Lt. Governor taking over merely until the election.
But what if Davis thinks his best shot is to try to find 35% who want him to be Governor rather than 50% who want to not have him be recalled.
Would California law allow him to resign and run, hoping to be the candidate who gets the plurality?

To me, half a conservative in office is better than none. You have that right! Last time I listened to Rush for the full time of his show he was defending Russert as being non-partisan. Yeah right! Maybe Rush should take his own advice but then I am not holding my breath!

What happens if the CA Supreme Court tosses the recall???In a strange, vengeful way, I almost wish they would be stupid enough to do that.....

I wonder if the law would allow ex-Governor Davis to get on the ballot? He can't serve three terms. Term two would end if he resigns.
To: Joe Hadenuf
Could it be that the CSC allows the recall and then Davis - a champion for minority rights, of course - announces he's taking this to federal court to protect voter rights?
To: Ann Archy
Got that right and toe tag about to be affixed!

Cute!
No AIT, this was the real deal, in America, no less.
Suffice to say Arnold did you and me proud that fine day.

Great story. Thank you.

I wish I could stick around until the bitter end, but I've got a road trip to Kenosha to make to support Wisconsin's property tax freeze (the one vetoed by Jim "Craps" Doyle).
We're keeping an eye on things over in California; while we have to wait until January 6, 2004 to start recalling Doyle, it sure looks like that veto is the straw that's going to break his back.
