Anti-Arnold Radio Ad: Nazi Suggestions (vanity)
8/7/03 | EA

Posted on 08/07/2003 11:08:19 AM PDT by EggsAckley

I keep hearing Rush play an anti-Arnold radio ad, with perky Katie Couric talking in the forefront, and in the background it sounds like an army "marching." Also, I think I'm hearing voices shouting "Sieg Heil" at times, in time with the marching. Am I imagining this?

If not, it is despicable. Couric should be ashamed of herself. Yeah, I know, she's too stupid to know what "shame" is.

Anyone else hearing this?

yes... Rush has gone over to the Darkside...

No he hasn't. Listen carefully. He's not supporting Arnold the liberal. he's sticking to his conservative roots and opposing a pro-abortion, homo-loving, gun-grabber who thinks tax payers should be forced to pay for "after school programs".

Listen again. There is no way Rush is supporting that liberal Schwarzennegger.

As one of the state's leading political columnists has pointed out, people are prone to underestimate Schwarzenegger.

And here is the same writer's column explaining Why Arnold Will Win If He Runs -- with a bit more on the "fiscal conservative" issue. (Personally, as of now, I think Arnold has about a 67% chance of winning. The purer candidate ideologically, McClintock, has less of a chance, IMO, more like 50%. Simon and Issa are unlikely to win.)

Schwarzenegger has a degree in business from U. of Wisconsin and invested successfully in real estate with what little money he got from appearing in "Pumping Iron." He was so astute at identifying, investing in, and improving the value of distressed real estate in the Santa Monica area that he was a millionaire before he became truly famous in "Conan."

And, yes, he has some very annoying liberal views on social policy questions.

I too wish GWB was a fiscal conservative, as well as conservative in many other areas. He has turned out to be a big government loving, spending explosin President.

Yeah, I know. At least he's a fiscal conservative.

Isn't that what they're saying about Howard Dean though? And unfortunately i think Arnold has more in common with him than with, say, Ronald Reagan.

As much as we Freepers try to claim that we could care less about what entertainers have to say, and often mock them for what they do have to say, we suddenly go gaga though when one of them just happens to have an R beside his name despite the fact it should be followed by "ino".

Sorry but i just have a bad feeling about Arnold. I think he'll be a thorn in the side for conservatives and won't be much of a friend to President Bush. For instance, i remember when Arnold was promoting his latest Terminator movie he joked that the only place where WMD would be found is in his movie...i know it was just a joke but it came at the expense of Bush and so i wonder just how supportive of him he'll be as a Governor.

Here's a hint: you can count them on a hen's teeth.

Well, chickens have what is called an egg tooth that they use to break the egg shell as they are hatching. But I don't think we need to count that one for Katie. I wonder what bad roots we could find on her family tree. But then it would just be twisted into how she courageously overcame it. She makes me ill.

Did you actually know that the proposition that Arnold supported did not call for the raising of any taxes or bonds or anything. It was meant to reallocate money already there. Someone here on FR posted this today. Howard Jarvis supported it.

I don't. I have a better feeling about Arnold. Once he makes all of his positions known, and if there isn't anything too outrageous, I'm going to personally campaign for him.

I never said I favor Arnold. I know full well what he's about, and personally, he's scary. I'm just hoping he doesn't screw it up for a legitimate candidate.

I don't think Arnold will be a huge boost for Republicans in CA but he beats Davis or anything the Dems have in the race. It looks bad for California no matter who wins but it can't get much worse, can it?

Rush made that up as a joke. You had to have been hearing the whole program to understand it. It is a joke.

Arnold is a RINO

Yeah, I know. At least he's a fiscal conservative.

I can't wait to see that reconciled with the pro-gay, pro-gun control, pro-affirmative action and pro-abortion stands he's already made.

Hell, his announcement speech was all about "paying for services for the people" and not one mention of cutting taxes, slashing spending, or voiding the Poison Pill energy contracts that Davis signed.

Don't waste the Recall on a RINO!

-Jay

Some political operatives assume Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Nazi background" could haunt him in a potential gubernatorial campaign, but it's clear the actor and bodybuilder has rejected that part of Austrian history.

Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean and founder of the Wiesenthal Center, said Schwarzenegger has been a generous donor to the Jewish human rights organization -- "every time he does a movie, he writes a check" -- and has been granted its National Leadership Award for his humanitarian work.

"It's not a proud moment for anyone when you learn your father was a member of the Nazi Party," Hier said in an interview. "But Arnold is not his father, and Arnold has to be judged for who he is. I have always found him to be interested in the issues of the museum. He has been very friendly and supportive."

I'm not quite so sure Arnold is a fiscal conservative. After all, he did actively support Prop. 49, a $550 million state initiative for after-school programs
