[history]
The prosecutor in the Kobe Bryant rape case says he has slam-dunk evidence to prove the NBA superstar's guilt, it was revealed on the eve of the hoopster's first court appearance today. Eagle County District Attorney Mark Hurlbert made that strong claim in court papers arguing against making public the police affidavit written to justify Bryant's arrest early last month.

Just an observation, but don't you think he looks angry?

Now we learn that Kobe's dad was caught in the 70s in a car with a woman and cocaine.
Why would anyone even bring that up on that panel, I wonder. Except for purely sensationalistic, tabloid mentality people who might be watching.

Just an observation, but don't you think he looks angry? If you just bought off your mother in law's house, paid 100x's too much for a hunk of compressed purple carbon, bought 2 Mercedes, $20,000 in Versace clothes and a pair of overpriced diamond earrings because you put your johnson where it doesn't belong, you would look angry too.
But he still could have put on a tie.

I cannot believe the coverage myself! I was curious to see what the media would do! I found out -- all the TV cameras and 24/7 coverage is unbelieveable for nothing really happening!

Looks like Mark Cuban was right on the money.

But he still could have put on a tie. Why? This whole thing took ten minutes.
Perhaps he was showing what he thought of the ridiculousness of this "hearing" and his forced attendance. Even Judge Napolitano thinks this Judge, Garrett, is Ito-redux, angling for TV time.
He said that he (Napolitano) would never require a defendant to attend a hearing like this.

Wonder what he'd look like in an orange jumpsuit. OK- all you Kobe supporters out there-it was a joke!

I don't think they are interested in fairness either -- it is all about ratings.
The leaks to the media by both sides is way over the top IMO!
Not sure I believe much of anything that has been leaked! ESPN gets on my nerves a lot recently! Sure isn't what it used to be. These news sources never know what a witness is going to say on the stand -- time and time again lawyers on both sides have been burnt by so-called "reliable" witnesses!

This whole hearing was strictly for face time of the Judge and the DA IMHO! They love the publicity!
Sick and tired of the media and media loving lawyers/judges!

Quite true. I don't think we will know anything until this case goes to trial. We are only seeing shadows of the truth-right now. But, I am still watching. I can't figure out why.

You are right about that! Personally I like Cuban because he tells it like it is! He also takes care of his players!

It doesn't matter if the hearing was 10 minutes or 10 hours. Court is court and you dress appropriately.
Perhaps he was showing what he thought of the ridiculousness of this "hearing" and his forced attendance.
I am sure Kobe thinks this whole thing is ridiculous. He's the great Kobe afterall, why should he have to act like any normal person. He's special.

I have decided that Brit is about the only member of the media that I trust! I got the feeling he was thinking this is unbelieveable! That smirk was priceless!
Sure was a waste of money by the media!

This whole hearing was strictly for face time of the Judge and the DA IMHO! They love the publicity! So this hearing has nothing to do with due process?

I am quite surprised his lawyer let him dress this way too.
My son was beat up on the bus in 4th grade by three older boys. He ended up in the hospital-no lasting damage thank God. The DA told me to put my son in a suit, and I did.

Now we had to see Arianna Huffington -- what a buffoon she is!
Cannot wait to hear what Fred has to say!
Mara -- big news was Diane Feinstein not Arianna Huffington -- and I very seldom agree with her!
