The New York Times has announced a new liberal executive editor, Bill Keller, and a report on the Jayson Blair scandal, and they both seek to perpetuate and expand the liberal diversity program that contributed to the plagiarism and fakery scandal in the first place. But this fact has been obscured by news that the paper intends to implement various reforms and appoint an ombudsman or "public editor."

They have got to hire that Christina Vandenheuvel from The Nation. That chick is what they need to make some sense out of their agendas. Just like she's doing for the democratic party.

I'm not familiar with him...what is the deal?
Drango...The article loads now.
Anyone know more on this?
Keller is, of course, a white male but also a liberal with a documented animus toward conservative Christians.
Nothing I could find at the site. What has Keller written? Interesting considering the New York Times ran two hit pieces on Mel Gibson in as many days.

A FR item identified NYT editor Keller as a lapsed Catholic who with all the "tolerance and compassion" only a liberal could muster, aborted (read disposed of) his and his wife's unborn child b/c it was handicapped. Excerpted from Keller's article about the banality of killing the innocent unborn:
"Two years ago this summer, my wife and I lost a baby. I say 'lost,' as if we had misplaced it. There is nothing like abortion to make you appreciate the solace of euphemism. Lord knows the zealots who have occupied the field and mined it with moral explosives have left little room for comfort. "
That's right Keller. There is no room at all for the luxury of comfort in deliberately choosing to get rid of a child you deem as inconvenient to yours and your wife's lifestyle.
As the obstetrician said. to the Kellers "Why risk an unhappy outcome?"
Why indeed?
A handicappped child would have required too much of your love, too much of your attention, too much of your time and trouble. You would have had to miss a few of those A-list parties.
The in utero handicapped child is crying out its humanity and begging for its parents care and the safety and security of their loving arms.
Too bad, Keller. You and the missus simply didnt measure up to the task.

Thanks for posting this. We need more of these type reports posted! I am on MRC's email list and find it strange that they usually are not posted on here -- especially since people complain about the media and MRC does a great job of pointing out the liberal broadcast media.

So that's it. Thanks. We need to send Keller accounts from parents of severely handicapped children. But maybe someone whose life revolves around parties on the upper west side and the Hamptons will not related to the deep joy and satisfaction these parents express.

One simply cannot be the supreme editor of the hallowed NYT and be expected to express
reluctance at aborting a handicapped child. The possibility of actually having to raise such a
child is politically incorrect and so unliberal.

In one astounding paragraph, the report says that, "The commitment of The Times' leadership to diversity must be embraced from top to bottom and institutionalized as part of all journalistic conversations." The Times "leadership" SHOULD be committed. It's very telling that they want all of their employees "institutionalized."

Two suicides at the Times last year. One editor jumped out of a window at the paper's Times Square office. The other was found floating in the Hudson. They think he jumped off the GW bridge.
